<p>Meet Sakoi.
</p><br />
<p>Sakoi is a beautiful baby boy born in the beautiful Virgin Islands on June 20th, 2025. Sakoi was born with a cleft lip and palate at birth.
</p>
<p>A cleft lip is an opening in the upper lip that may extend into the nose. The opening may be on one side, both sides, or in the middle. A cleft palate occurs when the palate contains an opening into the nose.
</p>
<p>In Sakoi's case, it was just something that happened. Many forms of testing were done to rule out any causes.
</p>
<p>The overall probability of a baby being born with a cleft lip and/or palate is about 1 in 700 births worldwide.
</p>
<p>Every three minutes, a child is born with a cleft condition, and many need surgery to change their lives. <b>We're raising money for Sakoi who needs a life-changing cleft repair, and your support is crucial.</b>
</p>
<p>Cleft lip and palate can cause problems with eating, hearing, and may also have issues with their teeth or self-esteem.
</p>
<p>Sakoi was born in the VI where options for medical attention are very limited, so because of that, he is a patient at the Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami. Therefore, we are also raising money to help with Sakoi's travel and other expenses like housing and transportation.
</p>
<p><b>Can you help us provide a new smile and a new life for Sakoi? This surgery is essential for his health and ability to thrive, and definitely his quality of life. Please donate today. Every penny helps!</b>
</p>
<p>When he smiles, we see nothing but joy — and we want to make sure he always feels confident sharing that smile with the world.
</p>
<p> Thank You
</p>

<div>While the road ahead is uncertain and likely long, Rob’s strength gives us hope. In the meantime, his wife and son need our support more than ever. Any amount you can give will help ease their burden during this incredibly difficult time.

<div>This GoFundMe has been started to assist Tracy in her battle against cancer. As she has never been one to ask for help (like ever!), we are doing the asking for her (with her permission).

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>At the beginning of this year, Tracy was informed that she had cancer. Never one to take anything laying down, she immediately dove into action mode and began putting a plan together. As life goes, some adjustments were made to this plan along the way, including where was the best place to receive care. The answer for her was off island, where she has been since her treatment began.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Even with insurance, the care Tracy requires to beat cancer is very costly and will add a significant financial burden. Tracy gives back to her community and friend group donating her time and effort in every way she can when someone is in need. We are asking you to join Tracy‘s Tribe to return a bit of that kindness she shows so many and donate any amount you can to help pay for this cancer-beating treatment.

</div>

Help Us Complete Our British Virgin Islands Animal Shelter

<div>Hey friends and family,
</div>
<div>I hate to ask but our cousin, brother, friend Oscar is in dire need of help.
</div>
<div>As some of you might know he’s been struggling with his health for some time. He was just released from the hospital after heart surgery and is now also facing kidney failure and has lung issues.
</div>
<div>Due to several reasons he wasn’t completely covered by insurance and as a successful surgery has been preformed there are many more to come. I ask for you to please donate some money to this cause, for the people that have met him I don’t have to explain, to the people who haven’t had the pleasure of meeting him (yet), trust me the world is a better place with him in it.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Any donations will help and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me on +12843428147

<div>All the love and you know I wouldn’t have asked if I wouldn’t have been quite worried.

<div><strong>This year for my Birthday</strong> <strong>I am conducting a building repair campaign for my beloved American Legion Post in Islip NY .</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Named after <strong>two great Islip patriots from WW1 Joseph Rusy and Emil Bohm</strong>, our <strong>post has over 100 years of service</strong> <strong>to our Veterans and Community</strong> . That 100 years of many folks passing through our doors has caught up to us. meaning the Post building is in need of immidiate repair and major renovation .
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>My immidiate goal is to help my Post Family financially replace the now non working Air Conditioning unit</strong> . Its finally quit cooling and will <strong>make it unbearble to hold our Veteran meetings and community events when its so humid and hot inside as it warms up oustide in these upcoming days.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>The Post </strong>as we affectionatley call it <strong>is the source for all Veterans to gather for fellowship , camaraderie and frendship</strong>. Its also a place were <strong>our combat Vets can talk about their experiences without judgement. </strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please consider even a small contribution to <strong>"The House that Veterans built"</strong>

<div>My daughter Sarah and her boyfriend Matt lost everything in a fire on December 29, 2023. Even worse than the material possessions were the loss of their two beloved pets – Bowie and Bennie.
</div>
<div><br />
</div><img alt="" media_type="3" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/77379107_1703984863776302_r.png" width="100%" />
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In a devastating turn of events early at 6:30 AM, the home became the site of an unfathomable tragedy. A fire, believed to have originated from a recently serviced wall heater, erupted, resulting in the loss of both beloved boys and the complete destruction of the residence, leaving Sarah and Matt shattered and their belongings reduced to ashes.
</div>
<div><br />
</div><img alt="" media_type="3" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/77379107_1703984909600392_r.png" width="100%" />
<div><br />
</div>
<div>A neighbor across the street noticed the smoke and called 911, but despite all efforts to salvage possessions, including cherished items like Sarah's artwork, electronics, and personal records, it proved futile.
</div>
<div><br />
</div><img alt="" media_type="3" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/77379107_1703984955752892_r.png" width="100%" />
<div><br />
</div>
<div>"We are beyond devastated. We lost both of our boys and our home today," Matt shared in their grief-stricken statement. "Our hearts ache as we make our way to a friend's land to lay our boys to rest, seeking solace in the midst of indescribable loss."
</div>
<div><br />
</div><img alt="" media_type="3" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/77379107_1703985505902046_r.png" width="100%" />
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Compounding this tragedy, Matt and Sarah were in the midst of switching renters’ insurance, so therefore did not have coverage, adding to the financial burden ahead. Despite the unimaginable hardship, the family, finding solace in each other, expressed determination to navigate through this harrowing ordeal together.
</div>
<div>Amidst the ruins, plans are underway for home repairs, with the landlord providing temporary accommodation through an Airbnb. Despite the uncertainty and grief, the family is unwavering in their commitment to rebuild their lives.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I'm seeking support to assist in rebuilding Sarah and Matt's lives after this tragic incident. Our initial aim is to raise $40,000 to provide them with essential home necessities, including:
</div>
<ul>
<li>Covering living expenses.
</li>
<li>Clothing, toiletries, bedding.
</li>
<li>Restocking their pantry.
</li>
<li>Supporting Sarah with art supplies.
</li>
<li>Assisting Matt in acquiring photography equipment.
</li>
<li>Supporting their daily needs.
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Your contribution will make a significant difference in helping them regain stability during this challenging time. No matter the amount, your support will assist Sarah and Matt in handling immediate expenses, providing a sense of stability during this challenging journey. Each donation will remind them they're not navigating this alone.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I'm committed to providing regular updates to all our generous donors and supporters regarding Matt and Sarah's situation and how the funds are being utilized. Your participation holds immense value for us.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please, consider contributing to aid Matt and Sarah during this profoundly challenging period. Sharing this campaign with your network can extend our reach and impact. Together, we can truly make a meaningful difference in their lives during this heart-wrenching time.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For transparency and direct assistance, Kristen Holden, Sarah's mother, has been assigned as the beneficiary of this fundraiser. All funds will be transferred directly to Sarah's account, ensuring they cover necessary expenses and support the rebuilding of Matt and Sarah's life.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our starting goal is $40,000, but we're driven to surpass this target if our combined efforts enable us to extend further and create an even more significant impact to rebuild Sarah and Matt’s lives. They are starting over from nothing.

Devastating Fire: Lost Home and Both Pets

<div>As you all know, LeAnne received some life-altering news just about 2 months ago. I’m here to reach out to all of you for the help she needs to get through this and relieve some financial stress through this process.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>A little bit about what has gone on from Lee:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Sometime around the end of March, I found what felt to be a large lump in my left breast. Spent many nights anxiety-ridden and thinking the worst of it. With a history of Breast Cancer in my family, and my grandmother and mother both being diagnosed, my mind was whirling. Fast forward a month to a bloodwork panel on my hormones (not related to my worries of the lump) something slightly concerning came back which prompted the first doctor's visit.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>A diagnostic mammogram and sonogram revealed the need for an immediate biopsy of the “suspicious” area. After a week of worry, fear, and anxiety, my nightmares became my reality. On May 8th, I was diagnosed with Stage 2 invasive ductal and lobular carcinoma. I was told my cancer was aggressively estrogen and progesterone positive and HER2-. I cried, a lot, but I also pulled myself together and with the support of my amazing fiancé, Kevin Tuthill (now husband), family, and friends I have started my journey toward becoming cancer free.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>First and foremost, I have to be alive and healthy to plan for the future. As a 35-year-old with no children, the worry of what exactly this diagnosis means for our future is a major concern. Knowing the inevitable risks of surgery, chemotherapy, and years of hormone therapy I expressed my feelings to my doctors and was immediately referred to a fertility specialist to assist in safely planning for our future. We completed one round of IVF and will be starting a second, praying for better results than the first.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>On June 14, I went in for a bilateral mastectomy and the start of my reconstruction. I’m currently recovering before I start a second round of IVF and egg retrieval, which will be immediately followed by chemotherapy.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This all came to us so unexpectedly. Along with the emotional toll it has taken, it is an enormous financial strain. Many of the costs are not being covered or are only partially covered by insurance. I am not one to ask for help, usually I am the one asking to help in any way possible, but I am asking you all now when it matters the most. The outpouring amount of love and support I have received from all of you is something I will never be able to thank you enough for.
</div>
<div>Xoxo - Love Lee

<div>Humane Society BVI urgently needs funds to relocate Animal Shelter.....

<div><br /><strong style="font-size:1.0625rem;">About Us:</strong>

<div>Every year the Humane Society takes in hundreds of homeless pets.  Many of these are strays or just dumped/abandoned by their owners.  They are often sick, injured, malnourished, and sometimes aggressive.  We work hard to try and tackle this problem by educating members of the community about responsible pet ownership.  We encourage owners to spay/neuter their pets, train and socialise their animals properly, microchip them and to rehome them responsibly if they have to make that difficult decision.  But ultimately the Animal Shelter is the last resort for pets who fall through the cracks.  We have many animals at the shelter who will spend their entire lives there, waiting to find their forever home.<br /><br />The land the shelter is currently on is rented from a private family.  The shelter has been in the same spot in Johnson’s Ghut for more than two decades.  The Humane Society must vacate the land before the end of 2019 as the owners wish to develop the land.  We are extremely grateful to our landlords for having accommodated the Humane Society in its current location for many years at below-market rent.  However, their decision does unfortunately leave the Shelter in a very difficult position with very little time to relocate.  <br /><br /><strong>New Building:</strong><br />The intention was always to build a new, larger and more modern shelter to accommodate the ever-growing numbers of animals needing our care.  In 2013 after years of raising funds we purchased our own land in Josiah’s Bay on Tortola.  We also purchased a few years later a pre-fabricated steel frame structure to serve as the frame for a new shelter.   We were continuing to raise funds for the erection of the steel building when our islands were devastated in 2017 by Hurricane Irma and then a week later by Hurricane Maria.  These category 5 hurricanes caused serious damage to the current shelter. We had no choice but to turn our attention to the urgency of the repairs needed at our current shelter to preserve the welfare and safety of the animals in our care.  Due to the hurricanes, our financial reserves were severely depleted. Through goodwill from the community, donations and our own funds we were able to carry out major repairs. <br /><br /> See our plans: <a href="http://www.bvihumanesociety.org/new-shelter.html"><a href="http://www.bvihumanesociety.org/new-shelter.html" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">http://www.bvihumanesociety.org/new-shelter.html</a></a> <br /><br /><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>How You Can Help!:</strong></span><br />We have established a Go Fund Me to specifically raise a percentage of the funds needed to build the new shelter.  The remainder will hopefully come from Corporate Donations or Private Sponsors. (The monthly expenses of the shelter (approx $10,000) are covered through fundraising events).  We have put out to tender with multiple contractors and estimate <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">the amount required to build a modern, larger and better facility is approximately $500,000.</span> </strong>  While we have been fundraising for this new shelter for some time, it is simply not attainable for us to raise this amount of money in only a few months, especially when our island has less than 25,000 residents.  <span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>We are in an extremely desperate situation and are asking for any financial help you can offer!</strong></span><br /><br />There is no other animal shelter in the BVI!  <span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>We are deeply concerned with regards to the future animal welfare.</strong></span><br /><br /><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Please help us save our animal shelter and donate to the building cost of our new shelter!  Your donation will secure the future happiness and welfare of so many animals!</span>  </strong> We are happy to provide any financial information or plans to anyone that would like to see this.<br /><br /> THANK YOU!<br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/43033344_1572377709484073_r.jpeg" alt="43033344_1572377709484073_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br />Humane Society of the British Virgin Islands.<br /><a href="http://www.bvihumanesociety.org/"><a href="http://www.bvihumanesociety.org/" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">http://www.bvihumanesociety.org/</a></a>

Humane Society BVI has to relocate URGENTLY

<div>Hi, we are Ruby and Moca, two adult dogs in the care of the Humane Society BVI. The shelter generally houses around 65 adult dogs and sadly our chances of adoption could be low as we live on a small island. We were approached by the amazing Rylie's Rescue, who have offered to take us into their foster program in the States and find us a permanent home. We need to raise $1600, which will cover flight costs from Tortola to Newark and a dog handler and kennels during our layover in San Juan. Please can you help us, no donation is too small and we would love to start our new life as soon as possible!! Love and Licks Ruby and Moca xx

RUBY AND MOCA'S FREEDOM FLIGHT

<div>Hi everyone- We are raising money to help the Metcalf family during this difficult time. We would like to help them have the freedom to focus on her recovery. Thank you so much for sharing whatever you can give and please keep sending your prayers. ♥️

Ms. Nancy Read, a teacher in our local community who has given so much to our children throughout the years, is now in need of our assistance.   Her 35 year old son Branson has suddenly died in a boating accident on the island of Tortola where he worked and lived.  Nancy has been heartbroken by losing her son but she is still dedicated to her students and is coming to work each day.  She will go down to Tortola when the authorities give her release and move forward with Branson's funeral.  These travel and funeral expenses will be difficult for Ms. Read's to come up with so please consider helping her through this difficult time.

Help Ms. Read with sudden funeral costs

My name is Joa-Gael Tremblay, 28 years old and I am 7 months pregnant. My boyfriend and life partner Dakar Myett Rhymer, recently passed away and I want to ensure that our baby girl Savy will have everything she needs. I want to be able to give her the best life possible but will be harder for me as I will be alone In doing so. Unfortunately we did not have a lot of money saved up and we depended on both salaries to ensure she had everything needed. I live on Tortola in the BVI and everything seems to be a lot more expensive so I am asking for everyone's help as this is an extremely hard time for me and I wanna do everything I can for my baby to be happy!
