- Suicide is the biggest killer of people under 35, and men under 50 in the UK. Everyone reading this will likely know someone who, for whatever reason, is currently finding life hard. Many people reading this may be finding life challenging themselves. We believe that life is worth living, and everyone should feel supported when they are struggling. The charity Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) are on a mission to help people end their misery, not their lives. CALM offer a helpline and webchat service, run campaigns to encourage open conversations about mental health, and provide resources and support to anyone struggling with life as well as those worried about them. CALM operate https://www.thecalmzone.net/, providing help and guidance if you or someone you know is finding things tough. We’d love you to donate to our fundraiser, but we’d also encourage you to check out their page and the support available for both you and those around you. The challenge We are attempting the Welsh 3000s this August, a challenge that involves standing on the summits of all the 15 mountains over 3000 feet in Wales within 24 hours. We wanted to do something genuinely challenging, and this definitely fits the bill! The hike includes: 47.1 km (~30 miles) hiking 3777 m of elevation gain (about 12 times the height of the Shard!) Difficult and technically challenging mountain terrain Plus, whilst the challenge is 24 hours (starting having already climbed Snowdon), we have decided to set ourselves a target time of 16 hours, on the basis that more difficult is… better?! We intend to attempt the challenge the week of the 18th August 2025, with the exact date being weather dependent. For more details see https://www.welsh3000s.co.uk/. Thank you! Thomas and Theo
