The Mensing family recently experienced an unimaginable loss. Just a day before his due date, they lost their son, Sorin Cash. His parents, Ellie and Alex, had been eagerly awaiting the arrival of their first son, and their two daughters were excited to welcome their little brother. Sorin was already cherished and loved, and his parents had spent months preparing for his arrival. <br />

 Now, they are facing the emotional and financial burden of planning a funeral and burial for their baby. Sorin’s sisters are grieving the loss of their brother, and the family is trying to find a way to honor his memory and celebrate the love they shared for him. The pain of losing a child is something no parent should have to endure, and the family is doing their best to support each other through this difficult time. <br />

 This fundraiser is asking for donations to help the family honor the baby they never got to bring home, and to celebrate the joy and love his family already had for him. Funds will also help support the family’s loss of income during this time of grieving. Any support, whether through donations or sharing, will mean so much to the family as they navigate this loss, and remember their sunshine boy, Sorin Cash. ☀️❤️

<div>For more than 15 years, Chris Johnson has been a familiar face behind the bar at Candlelight Tavern - welcoming regulars, serving friends, and taking care of people night after night. If you’ve spent any time at Candlelight, chances are Chris has taken care of you.

<div>Chris is scheduled to undergo hip surgery on February 9, a necessary procedure that will require him to be out of work for approximately 4–6 weeks, possibly up to 8 weeks, while he recovers. As anyone in the service industry knows, time off work means no income - and medical bills don’t stop while you heal.

<div>Chris is facing a $9,000 out-of-pocket medical co-pay, along with everyday living expenses during his recovery. Like many in hospitality, he’s been doing everything he can to get by, but this unexpected situation has created a serious financial strain.

Support Chris Johnson’s Hip Surgery Recovery

<div>Starting in about September or October of 2024, Casey started having headaches and dizzy spells. He wanted to start living a healthier lifestyle. He changed his eating habits and started exercising more. At this time, Casey also started taking more vitamins and health supplements. Unfortunately, the headaches and dizzy spells increased and worsened.

<div>On April 1, 2025, his wife, Traci, picked him up from work after he told her he felt like he was going to pass out during a meeting. They went to Sky Ridge Medical Center in Lone Tree, CO. The ER did an EKG and a blood test. Everything came back normal. The ER thought it could be all the major changes all at once.

<div>Casey’s health was still declining. The headaches were getting worse and he could barely stand long enough to make dinner. He told Traci on Monday, April 21, 2025, that he needed to go back to the ER. This time they went to the Parker Adventist Hospital in Parker, CO. Little did they know life as they knew it would change forever. The ER did the same tests as they did at Sky Ridge. Everything came back normal as they did before. For some reason, the ER doctor decided to do a CT scan on Casey. At that time, they found a large mass that was about 9.7 cm. He was then admitted to the hospital. The neurosurgeon came to see Casey the next morning, Tuesday, April 22nd. He wanted to do surgery to remove as much of the mass as they could. Later that day, Casey went in for brain surgery. The surgeon was able to get about 70-75% of the tumor out.

<div>Casey went in for a follow-up appointment and to get his staples taken out about three weeks after surgery. The surgeon suggested radiation for 6 weeks and chemo by pill for about 6 months. Casey decided he wanted to go to MD Anderson in Houston, TX to see what they thought.

</div>
<div>Casey and Traci traveled to Houston, TX on June 10, 2025, to meet with a specialist. The doctor thought the rest of the tumor could be taken out or at least more of the tumor. Casey was then referred to a neurosurgeon to review the case and get his opinion on whether or not he could get more of the tumor out. Casey got another MRI for the surgeon and medical team to review. After reviewing the results, the surgeon decided he could definitely get some or more of the tumor out.

<div><strong>Casey is scheduled for another craniotomy on Thursday, June 26, 2025.</strong>

<div>Both Casey and Traci are taking leave from work at this time. There is no indication at this time when he will be returning based on healing and if radiation is necessary. <strong>If radiation is needed, he will need to be in Houston for about 6 weeks for treatment.</strong>

Support Casey's Battle Against Brain Cancer!

<div>Michael "Shane" Kincy applied for work at High Plains Raceway in the spring of 2014. He was hired as a corner worker but immediately proved he had valuable skills far beyond just waving a flag. Be it painting, plumbing, general construction or anything DIY, he quickly showed he was the "go to" guy who could be trusted to complete a project on time and correctly with minimal oversight, and he became a critical member of the team at HPR. Shane took on the role of overseeing the corner working staff and when the decision was made to incorporate the corner lights at HPR, Shane was instrumental in helping to tailor the system to our needs and has been operating the light system computer in the Turn 1 tower since its inception. After more than a decade of working corners three to five days a week, he's seen it all and has always handled anything that the participants could throw at him. He is the third longest serving employee at HPR and has been a huge part of our track becoming what it is today.

<div><strong>Earlier this summer, Shane received some bad news - a diagnosis of advanced liver cancer, which he is fighting valiantly.</strong> Despite our health insurance plan, the bills are piling up and it seems there are always too many little expenses that accompany an illness. I know that everyone is feeling a pinch in the current economy and sometimes helping others is easier said than done. Anything you can manage would be greatly appreciated, the support would lift Shane's spirits and help ease his worry about getting his loved ones through this trouble. Thank you.
