<div>My daughter Mari is currently in the hospital in Lima, Peru with severe abdominal pain and we need help covering emergency medical costs.

<div>Tonight she was taken by ambulance after developing 10/10 abdominal pain, fever, severe vomiting, and dehydration. This is the second time in the past two months that this has happened, and doctors are now trying to figure out what is causing it.

<div>The hardest part is that I’m currently in Watertown, New York working, and she is in Peru without insurance. Any hospital care there has to be paid out of pocket, and we already paid for a previous hospital stay recently.

<div>Right now we don’t know:

<div>	•	how long she’ll be hospitalized

</div>

<div>	•	what testing or treatment she’ll need

</div>

<div>	•	whether I may need to fly to Peru to be with her

<div>But we do know that the costs are going to add up quickly, and I’m doing everything I can from thousands of miles away.

<div>If you know me, you know I’m not someone who asks for help easily. I work contracts in the U.S. specifically to support our life abroad and take care of the people and animals in my world. But right now I’m a mom whose kid is sick in another country, and I need some backup.

<div>Hi, my name is Taylor, and I’m writing this with a heavy heart and a lot of urgency. <strong>My beloved bulldog Hulk—who belonged to my late husband—is in the hospital fighting for his life.</strong>

<div>Hulk isn’t just a pet. He’s the last piece of my husband I still get to hug every day. After my husband passed away unexpectedly, Hulk became my emotional support, my reason to get up in the morning, my family. He’s been with me through grief, through healing, and through this new chapter of life here in Costa Rica.

<div>On Sunday, Hulk suddenly became very sick. He was vomiting, lethargic, and swollen. I rushed him to the emergency vet in Jacó. At first, they thought he had a twisted stomach (bloat), but it turned out to be even more dangerous—three large kidney stones lodged in his ureters were blocking his bladder, and he was unable to pee. His bladder became so full it nearly ruptured and caused an intestinal blockage at the same time.

<div><strong>The vet said he would die without surgery.</strong> I’ve already paid $500 in emergency vet bills and hospitalization, but the surgery today will cost over $2,000—and I just don’t have it. My credit cards are maxed. I’ve stretched every resource I have. But I’m not ready to give up on him.
