<div>Hello everyone, I am Bissan Naim Palestinian from Gaza. I was born in Beit Hanoun Governorate in 2005. Help us from genocide my birth, I have not left my city. Because of the Israeli occupation, I was forced to leave my city 9 times. I was displaced several times from Jabalia Al-Balad to Gaza City.To Al-Nuseirat, then to Rafah, then I returned to Mawasi Khan Yunis and other places. I am responsible for myself and my family of 8 people, I am the eldest and I take care of them. Because of the genocide and famine, I resorted to creating a campaign to collect donations to protect my family from famine. I hope that you will disappoint the occupier who thinks that we are alone. Prove to them that the Palestinians have those who support them and believe in their cause. You are our hope. The only one

<div>ENGLISH BELOW
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
Vielen Dank!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>

<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>We, the Association for Critical Journalism (Förderverein für kritischen Journalismus e.V.), the organization behind the leftist </strong><a href="https://etosmedia.de" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong>online magazine</strong></a><strong> etos.media, are raising funds for the legal defense of our foreign affairs editor, Jakob Reimann.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Jakob Reimann has been engaged in critical journalism for many years, opposing war, abuse of power, and oppression. He especially draws attention to the suffering of people in Yemen and Palestine, who are subjected to military violence and systemic oppression.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Now, Jakob Reimann is being sued by <strong>Karoline Preisler</strong> – a right-liberal activist known primarily for her solo counter-protests at demonstrations against the genocide in Gaza, and for her role as a pro-Israel influencer on X.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The Berlin Regional Court has admitted the lawsuit, and the hearing is scheduled for July 18. Meanwhile, over €56,000 has already been raised for Preisler’s legal expenses.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The lawsuit centers around <a href="https://x.com/Jakob_Reimann/status/1838241333145899453" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">this tweet</a> by Jakob Reimann that includes a video excerpt from an interview Preisler gave last year.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In the interview, alleged rapes by both Hamas and <a href="https://etosmedia.de/politik/israels-krieg-vergewaltigung-als-waffe/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Israeli soldiers</a> are discussed. In the excerpt, Preisler comments on what she claims is a legal follow-up by Israeli authorities: “even there, Israel is still the more humane actor.” Jakob Reimann contextualizes this quote alongside a slogan Preisler often displays: “Rape is not resistance.”
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The quote cited by Jakob Reimann is verbatim – yet Preisler’s lawyer accuses him of making false claims, misquoting, and incitement, and even blames him for negative international media coverage of Preisler that followed the interview.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For this lawsuit, Preisler has retained the law firm of <strong>Ralf Höcker</strong>, a controversial media attorney who frequently represents the far-right party AfD, including in its <a href="https://www.politico.eu/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/04/2025-05-02-_-Kanzlei-Hocker-i.A.-des-AfD-Bundesverbands-_-Abmahnung-UE-gg.-BfV-fur-Presseveroffentlichung.clean_.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">current legal battle</a> over being officially classified as a “confirmed right-wing extremist endeavor” by the domestic intelligence agency. Höcker's firm has also represented Turkish President Erdoğan and the network behind the far-right “remigration” meetings in Potsdam.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As Stiftung Warentest once wrote: “Ralf Höcker sees it as his job to <a href="https://www.test.de/Hoecker-Rechtsanwaelte-Fiese-Drohmethoden-5166357-0/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">influence journalists by threatening them</a>.”
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The tactic of silencing journalists or activists through legal means has a name: <strong>SLAPP – Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation</strong>. These lawsuits aim to intimidate and silence critical voices through drawn-out legal battles — often not to enforce legal rights, but to deter public scrutiny. Yet democratic societies depend on the work of independent journalists.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In this context, it is clear: this case is not about a tweet. It is a legal escalation intended to attack press freedom and intimidate pro-Palestinian voices in Germany. Jakob Reimann’s defense is therefore also a defense of fundamental democratic rights.
</div>
<div>With your support, we are aiming to raise €15,000 to cover legal expenses: attorney fees, court costs, and emergency injunction proceedings.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If any funds remain, they will be donated to an organization that provides legal aid to individuals facing repression due to their solidarity with Palestine.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Every contribution counts – it sends a message against intimidation and for independent journalism. Thank you!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong><em>Announcement</em></strong><em>: We will post an update here after the July 18 court hearing to inform you of the outcome.</em>

Pressefreiheit verteidigen: Unterstützung für Jakob Reimann

<div>Hello, my name is Layat Abu Odeh from Palestine Gaza, and I am doing this campaign with all my hope in you for my family and my little children who are stuck in the harsh injustice in Gaza and who need food, drink, diapers and clothes.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please I beg you to help them.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I am from the northern Gaza Strip, the town of Beit Hanoun. I was displaced five times during the war and my house was bombed because of the war and the violent raids on my city and now I live in a tent that does not protect us from the cold of winter and my situation is very difficult and my husband is unemployed and my family consists of 5 people, me, my husband and my three children Muhammad 6 years old, Elena 3 years old and Haitham 8 months old. My young children need everything from food, drink and clothes. My last child was born in the war. I went to the hospital in the evening under the bombing and danger and no ambulance came to take me because of the seriousness of the situation. We went in a fast car until we reached the hospital. During the birth he had an accident and suffered a broken collarbone and a dislocated nerve plexus. Since that day he has not been able to move his right hand at all. I want my child to be healthy like other children and to move his hand and be healthy. I went everywhere but unfortunately in Gaza and because of the siege and war there are no treatments or devices because everything was destroyed and the hospitals and my child needs physical therapy sessions and electricity sessions to move his hand. I hope to God that you look at my message and help me and my family and my child so that we can live a decent life, a healthy life like the rest of the children of the world and I hope that he will be saved Your country and your children, and my thanks, appreciation and love to you
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My message to the world: We are human beings like all humans, we have the right to live in peace and security, and our children have the right to live freely and in good health free from diseases, we have been under occupation for 75 years
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Isn't injustice and occupation enough for us?
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are very tired
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The war has exhausted our bodies
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We have nothing left of life
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our homes have become ashes
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>So have schools, hospitals and universities
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Gaza has become uninhabitable
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our features have become older than our ages
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The amount that will be collected will help my family and contribute to the healing of my child. Help me get out of Gaza in peace to treat him and keep my children away from war and fear
</div>

Help Layat Abu Odeh's Family in Gaza

<div>Help me save my life and pursue my education
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I, Ali Tawil, am a Palestinian doctor from Gaza Strip. I write this as the need to save my life and to continue my education outweigh my ability to endure.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I am a dedicated resident physician who is working at Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir El-Balah, the middle area of Gaza Strip. Since October 7th, the situation in Gaza has been deteriorating and the conflict is escalating. Despite that, I have been tirelessly working a 24-hour every other day in various departments including ER, ICCU, and ICU, dealing with different kinds of patients, grappling with the challenges of a limited medical staff and the hazards of returning home.
</div>
<div><br />

<div><br />
</div>
<div>After eight months of this war, I neither have a soure of income nor savings any more. I have been working without a salary for the whole period due to this disaster. Taking into consideration that I am the only person who is responsible to afford my family's living expenses. On top of that, life has become really expensive and the prices have been getting raised in a crazy way. That's because of the actual shortage of the basic goods which make everything's price double folded.
</div>
<div><br />
</div><img alt="" media_type="3" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/80915103_1719092300797648_r.jpeg" width="100%" />
<div><br />
</div>
<div>During this war, my family's house was partially demolished by an airstrike a few months ago. Afterthat, we have enforced to leave our home to a small room in my uncle's house which was already full of displaced people. We were standing in a waiting line for bathroom, for getting bread, for filling a gallon of purified drinking water, for receiving a food parcel, for cellphone charging, and for everything you could have imagined. Our life has completely turned upside down in a blink of an eye since october 7th.
</div>
<div><br />
</div><img alt="" media_type="3" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/80915103_1719091280219878_r.jpeg" width="100%" />
<div><br />
</div><img alt="" media_type="3" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/80915103_1719091300966052_r.jpeg" width="100%" />
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Choosing to leave is a very painful decision to make, but the situation has become unbearable. It's been eight months since the beginning of this nightmare, but it seems like eight decades. Beside the ongoing bombings, we're also facing psychological pain, fear, hunger, dehydration, displacement, and spreading of illnesses.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Now, there is NO SAFE place in Gaza strip, even hospitals are not safe anymore. Every place and every person is an actual target to be targeted with the continuous bombing on Gaza. Staying here is really dangerous even if it's for a noble purpose which is saving the people's lives. So I have come to a point where I’m desperate, and humbly ask you to help us getting out of Gaza to save our lives and pursue my career in medicine.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Evacuation fees are really expensive, especially now that I have no source of income. Your donation will help me to re-establish my life here with my family till we can evacuate. Once we can evacuate, your donations will cover our travel expenses, residency fees, food and beverage expenses, emergency expenses including medical care, and international medical exams that I will do during our stay in Egypt to pursue my career.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Finally, I will sincerely appreciate your donation, even small ones that will make a significant difference in alleviating our suffering. Please consider sharing my campaign widely with your family and friends to reach my goal as soon as possible since every second is death danger in Gaza. I will be grateful for your kind assistance in this difficult time.
</div>

Help My Family Keep Surviving In Gaza Till We Can Evacuate
