Taanna Fort

My name is Taanna, and I am reaching out for help for myself and my children as we face an incredibly difficult time. We recently left Columbus, Ohio, to escape domestic violence and start over in a new state, hoping for a safer and better life. On November 17th, we moved into a new place, but unfortunately, our landlord was not understanding or supportive. She refused to fix problems in the home and instead blamed me, threatening us with eviction. Eventually, we came to a mutual agreement that we would need to leave by March 31st. Now, with that date approaching, we have no idea where we will go next. I have been searching for a new place for us, but it has been very challenging, especially since I do not have a job yet. I was able to get a car, but that is all we have right now. We are in urgent need of help to stay in a hotel while we look for stability and a new home. The funds raised will go toward hotel stays, moving costs, deposits, application fees, and utility deposits. We also need help with basic necessities like clothes, shoes, diapers, wipes, food, and gas for our vehicle—including getting my kids to and from school. Every bit of support will help us get through this uncertain time and move toward a safer, more stable future. If you are able to help, your kindness will mean the world to us.
