Justice for Amy: Fund DNA Testing

My brother, Youman Wilder, passed away unexpectedly, leaving our family heartbroken and facing the challenge of honoring his memory. We want to give him the best send-off possible and help cover his final expenses, including settling any outstanding debts he may have owed. Without life insurance, these costs have become overwhelming for our family.

 Youman lived in Brooklyn, New York, while his immediate family is spread across Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Florida. The funds raised will help with travel and lodging so loved ones can gather to celebrate his life. Youman was an icon in the baseball community, founding the Harlem Hitting Academy to mentor and train youth. He was a talented singer, coming in second at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, and a college graduate and athlete. Youman stood up against injustice and was a beloved brother, uncle, and brother-in-law to many. His family extended throughout the neighborhood, and his impact was felt far and wide.

 He was the glue that kept our family together and was always there to help any of us when he could. Many family and friends want to honor Youman, but without your help, some may not be able to attend. <div>On Saturday May 11th , Nicole traveled to Winnipeg to help Mamie ,who was having a medical emergency. Nicole was able to get there in time to save her life. Then got her to a hospital in Winnipeg . Mamie has since been transferred to Hospital here in Vancouver. Her recovery is unclear at this time but she is alive and is showing signs of improvement.

<div>Update:We are deeply saddened to report that on May 26th, Mamie, who has been in intensive treatment for the past two weeks, was escorted out of a secure unit of the hospital and taken up to a balcony walkway from which she fell five stories. She sustained life threatening injuries, has undergone multiple extensive surgeries, and is currently on life support.

<div>I wanted to speak yesterday on the speculations.
</div>
<div>Focusing now on Mamie's surgery today. Her body has been shattered. She has undergone two 11 hour surgeries with two doctors working on her, a three hour surgery and another surgery today. We have nothing but gratitude for the doctors and nurses who have been exemplary in her care since May 26.

<div>Mamie is ' doing well' comparatively to when she arrived Doing well because she has survived these extensive surgeries. She is enduring tremendous pain and continues to not give up. We can only hold onto the miracles of each day and continue to thank everyone for their prayers and marvel at the miracles of her story . Our daughter loves her life and loves her family and is fighting hard everyday.
