<div>Our dear friend Sarah Ford is facing an unimaginable health battle, and we are asking our community to come together and surround her and her family with the same love, strength, and support that Sarah has given to so many others over the years.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Sarah is a single mom of two, a longtime Verona resident, a friend, a daughter, and someone who has always lived life with incredible energy and independence. Right now, that independence has been taken from her almost overnight.
</div>
<div>For the past several months, Sarah has been experiencing a progression of frightening and unexplained symptoms - beginning with changes in her eyes, migraines and neck pain, and eventually progressing to difficulty speaking, muscle weakness, fine motor issues and significant loss of mobility and independence.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>After countless doctors appointments, tests and unanswered questions, Sarah's condition recently deteriorated dramatically. Further neurological testing revealed nerve damage, and Sarah and her family have been navigating an incredibly frightening period of uncertainty while doctors work toward a definitive diagnosis.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thankfully, recent bloodwork has provided a reason for hope. Her results point toward a possible autoimmune disease that may explain her symptoms, and after waiting for insurance approval, Sarah is scheduled to begin IVIG infusion treatments on August 17 in New York. Her initial treatment will consist of four consecutive days of infusions, approximately seven hours each day, with additional treatment and medical care to be determined based on how she responds.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are hopeful. Sarah is hopeful. But this is only the beginning of what may be a very long road, and still so much uncertainty.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Sarah Needs Our Help</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>At this point, Sarah is unable to work or drive and needs assistance with many of the basic things most of us take for granted every day - including getting dressed and showering on her own.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As a single mother of two, the financial impact of suddenly being unable to work while simultaneously facing ongoing medical treatment is enormous.
</div>
<div>There will be medical expenses, treatment costs, transportation back and forth to appointments in New York, household expenses, groceries, meals, help at home and, most importantly, the everyday costs of continuing to care for her children while Sarah focuses on getting stronger.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>That is why we are asking our community to rally around Sarah.
</div>
<div>Every donation - no matter the amount - will help give Sarah something incredibly important right now: the ability to focus on healing without carrying the additional fear of how she will financially support her family while she cannot work.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Funds raised will help with:</strong>
</div>
<div>* Medical bills and expenses not covered by insurance
</div>
<div>* IVIG treatments and ongoing medical care
</div>
<div>* Transportation to and from treatment and appointments
</div>
<div>* Household and everyday living expenses while Sarah is unable to work
</div>
<div>* Groceries, meals and necessities for Sarah and her children
</div>
<div>* Additional caregiving and support Sarah may need during treatment and recovery
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Through all of this fear and uncertainty, Sarah recently shared something that captures exactly why we are doing this:
</div>
<div>“I have a lot of life left to live and a lot of mom-ing left to do.”
</div>
<div>She does. And right now, we want Sarah to know that she does not have to walk this road alone. Sarah has spent months searching for answers while trying to remain positive for her children and the people around her. Her world has changed dramatically in an incredibly short period of time, yet she continues to hold onto hope as she begins treatment. Now it's our turn to hold some of the weight for her.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you know Sarah, you know how much heart she has. And if you don't know her personally, we hope you'll consider helping a mom who is fighting desperately to regain her health, her independence and the ability to simply be present for her children in all the ways she always has been.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please donate if you are able, share this fundraiser, and keep Sarah and her family in your thoughts and prayers as she begins this next chapter of treatment.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>No contribution is too small. Every donation, every share, every prayer and every act of kindness matters. Let's show Sarah just how powerful a community can be when we come together for one of our own.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>We love you, Sarah. You have an entire community behind you. ❤️</strong>

Rally For Sarah: Help Support Her Through the Fight Ahead

<div>Sadie is our beautiful 1½-year-old Black Lab/Hound mix. She came into our lives as a rescue, and from the moment we adopted her, she became a cherished member of our family. We love her more than words can express and have always done everything possible to give her the best life.

</div>

<div>

</div>

<div> Two weekends ago, our lives changed in an instant. Sadie suddenly went into anaphylactic shock and was rushed to the emergency veterinary hospital. At first, doctors believed she may have suffered a severe reaction to a bug, insect, or snake bite. She spent 9 hours in the emergency room before being transferred to a specialty animal hospital, where she remained for four days. During her hospitalization, Sadie required four plasma transfusions and intensive, around-the-clock care. Since then, she has needed four additional veterinary visits as her condition continued to worsen. Her body became severely swollen, and one of her ears ruptured. The vet stitched the ear, but tragically, it detached. Sadie also needs additional surgery to remove necrotic tissue from her side. The next visit to the surgeon is July 7th, when the vets will determine how much skin removal is needed after the biopsies return.

</div>

<div>

</div>

<div> The vets are perplexed about how this happened and now suspect Sadie may have been poisoned. Unfortunately, between ongoing human medical expenses and the extraordinary cost of saving Sadie's life, our veterinary bills have already exceeded what we can manage and continue to grow. Yes, we now have pet insurance, but none of Sadie's existing illnesses are covered. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward Sadie's emergency care, surgeries, medications, hospitalization, and recovery. If you are unable to donate, sharing her story means the world to us. Thank you for taking the time to read Sadie's story, for keeping her in your thoughts and prayers, and for helping us give our sweet girl the chance to heal and enjoy the happy life she deserves. Please get pet insurance. With heartfelt gratitude, Sadie's Family.

The ER,hospital and vet bills without insurance are insane.

<div>Hello, as many of you know, <strong>my wife Kelly recently had a double organ transplant</strong>. She got a new kidney and a new liver. The transplant went well, but the recovery has been long, and at times, not so smooth. (As we knew it might be) Things are moving in the right direction now, albeit, slowly, but she's very likely got months of recovering yet to go.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Needless to say, we have medical bills like never before</strong>. Any little bit of help would be highly appreciated during this tough time.
</div>

Support Kelly's Journey to Recovery

During this sorrowful time, we are initiating this fundraiser with the goal of raising of $20,000 to cover the costs of the funeral services, ensuring that they can say their final goodbyes in peace.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Every contribution, no matter the size, will help alleviate the financial strain and allow the family to focus on healing and remembrance.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for your generosity and support during this difficult time. Let’s come together to provide comfort and aid to our neighbors in their time of need.

A Community Fund for The Gasin Family

<div>Hi my name is Nancy Panes Dudas, I’ve been in town for over 35 years and owned a business in Livingston with my family almost my entire life. One of our very dear artists, friend, Customer and fellow neighbors has fallen upon hard times. She is battling a rare blood cancer and cannot work. She is struggling to stay afloat with her rent, medical bills, treatment, and food. If you would be so kind to donate to this truly amazing individual it would mean the world to her. Julie is a one of a kind human being. She has survived domestic violence, parental alienation, and now we must help her survive this part of her story. She is also a truly gifted artist and has paintings and her magnetic spins for sale as well. Please contact me at <a href="https://aol.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">[email redacted]</a> if interested. The money we raise here will also get her into a rental she can afford and she can show the rental management some funds in her account so she can still live here around town.

<div>Michael Dewar passed away on 1-22-23 after a long and brutal battle with Multiple Myeloma. Anyone that knew Mike knew him as a smart, funny and all-around sweet person with a heart of gold. If you knew Mike and you needed anything, he would do everything in his power to make sure you got what you needed..whether he had it or not..he would find a way. Unfortunately, the many years of treatments and hospitalizations depleted any funds he had...so now it's Mike's turn to ask for help with funeral expenses..or,i should say, his family and friends are asking on his behalf. We understand that times are tough..but any amount would be greatly appreciated..Mike leaves behind his sister Lisa Smith, brother Gary Dewar...his nieces and nephews..many friends and of course his beloved cat Jorge. Please donate if you can..and SHARE..thanks Rose

In memory of Susan E. Niler<br /><br />Friday morning, July 10th, I as well as many others tragically lost a very special friend.  Susan Niler started her day like every other Friday and headed to work one last time before looking forward to enjoying the weekend with her family.  Sadly, she never made it to work that day.  While Susan was driving through South Mountain Reservation, her car was struck by a fallen tree which took her life instantly.  The Niler family's life has changed drastically from that moment forward. <br /><br />Susan leaves behind a heartbroken husband, 3 beautiful, loving children and a very special son in law as well as many others who love and adore her.  Susan was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside.  I know this sounds rather cliche but there is no other way to describe my beloved friend.  Her love of life, her sparkling eyes and her beautiful contagious smile lit up every room as soon as she would enter.  I was blessed to have her as my friend for the last 33+ years...she was part of the fearsome four. <br /><br />For as long as I have known Susan she has always taken care of others.  First as the oldest of her siblings she instinctively took charge and has been there to assist in any way needed by her siblings, as well as her parents. For several years she volunteered for the Verona Rescue Squad in helping the members of the community.  She has nurtured and raised her family and has supported and assisted her friends in so many ways over the years.  This was not enough for Susan as she chose the career of nursing where she continued to help and care for people on a daily basis.  Her heart of gold and love for others was exhibited throughout her life. <br /><br />To lessen the financial burden on the Niler family as they begin to settle into a new "normal", the support of her family, friends and community would be greatly appreciated.  With one daughter in college and her youngest son just getting ready to enter high school, I am sure any amount large or small can be put to good use.  Thank you for caring, sharing and supporting the Niler family during this devastating time.<br /><br />With warmest regards,<br /><br />Sue

<p>As a compassionate all-foster, all-volunteer animal rescue without a facility, all animals rescued first arrive at my home for decompression.
</p><br />
<p>Once they've run the yard, let off some stress and steam, we then harness them up with tags, leashes, crates and supplies to go home with foster families.
</p><br />
<p>We are double-fenced, both back and front, and have safety precautions in place similar to those at a dog-park to prevent escapes. All meet and greets, when ready for adoption, also happen here.
</p><br />
<p>Our challenge is the lawn. With constant activity, digging, and bodily relief, we are unable to grow/maintain grass, leaving our yard barren and muddy, with deeply dug treacherous holes that can cause injury.
</p><br />
<p>Our goal is to have pet-friendly durable Artificial Turf installed by a local family business in Verona (Hillcrest Farms).
</p><br />
<p>But it's expensive.
</p><br />
<p>We would be so deeply grateful for the community's assistance to help us meet this goal. Saving approximately 500 lives per year has taken its toll on my yard, and we need to rectify this problem.
</p><br />
<p>Our co-founder, Rosemarie Cafiero, my late rescue-partner and mentor, saved over 7,000 lives before succumbing to cancer in 2018. And together, we've added thousands and thousands more to that marvelous count.
</p><br />
<p>Now we need your help ✨️
</p><br />
<p>So grateful, friends. So deeply grateful.
</p>
<p>-Susan
