C: Hi, I’m Carter Riley, and I moved to San Francisco to be with Mateo Sof. After years of friendship, we fell in love, and we’ve worked ever since to build a life together. We recently got married, and this has been such an exciting change. Now we’re pursuing their green card, but due to extended wait times in the process we could really use some community support! This is my best friend and partner in everything, so thank you for any and all support in ensuring their safety! M: Hi, I'm Mateo Sof Allier Lechuga. I'm a Mexican nonbinary artist and educator. I first came to San Francisco while pursuing an education in art, and have since spent almost a third of my life here. I feel incredibly lucky to have fallen in love, found my best friends, and gotten an amazing job here. I love San Francisco and all that it's done for me. My partner and I want to build a life together here, which is why we are applying for a Green Card. In the meantime, my work permit will expire in the summer. While I have applied for a new one, current changes in immigration policies mean that I am not able to work while waiting for it to be approved. This has been very distressing, as I have a job that I love and bills to pay. By supporting this campaign, you will help me cover essential expenses until my permit gets approved.
