 hace menos 2 años Junior fue diagnosticado con un tumor maligno a la altura del cuello, en su primer ciclo pudo vencer esta enfermedad con quimio y radio terapias, luego de unos meses sano esta terrible enfermedad volvió a aparecer en su cuerpo y necesita de nuestra ayuda para combatirla y ganarle la batalla nuevamente.

 La Cruz Roja nos ha brindado un enorme apoyo y actualmente estamos en un hotel provisional hasta el 13 de agosto. Perdimos nuestro hogar a causa de un incendio.

I am raising funds to help <strong>individuals and families affected by the earthquake in Cali, Colombia</strong>. My name is Vanessa, and I am here on the ground with my son, Ethan, doing everything we can to help our community through this disaster. My own family was also impacted, but not as severely as many of the people literally surrounding us. Right now, there is no power, no water, and no energy, and the devastation is overwhelming. People are still alive under collapsed buildings, and every moment matters. Volunteers are working urgently, but we need medical supplies, food, clean water, and equipment to keep going and to reach those who need help most.

 I am physically helping take people out and support families in immediate need, but I cannot do this alone. The funds from this fundraiser will go directly toward buying critical supplies and providing direct aid to people affected by the earthquake. Help Cali Families After the Earthquake

Over the course of a few days, my little cousin had been experiencing weakness at his knees, rashes on his skin and high fevers that would not go away. The first time he was noticed with a high fever, he got tested for COVID-19, but the results came back negative. He suffered rashes and bruises on his skin, as well as painful sores in his mouth. My uncle and his wife rushed him to the hospital out of pure fear and worry. After running a bunch of tests, he was detected with <strong>Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia</strong>.  ALL is set in stages such as B-cell and T-cell, and he currently has B-cell because the disease is in his bone marrow and other organs, as commonly occurred with ALL. He is going to be staying in the hospital for a month while he undergoes chemotherapy and will be receiving treatment for 2 years. His motors skills are more than likely to lose function and will have to receive physical therapy. <br /><br /><br />My little cousin, Giancarlo or Gianni, is 4 years old and full of life. He is a very cheerful and intelligent little boy; who loves to play baseball and play with his older brother and sister. He was as healthy as any other 4 year old, but right now he lays in a hospital bed, weak from chemotherapy and medication he has to take for the aforementioned bone cancer. But even through this, he continues to fight for his life. <br /><br /><br />Your donation, however much it is, will help Gianni and his family with all the treatments he needs. We are all living through tough times now, and my uncle has remained as the only source of income for the family. As many know these treatments and hospital bills are highly expensive. And if you are unable to donate, we would appreciate it if you kept him in your thoughts and prayers. We would have never imagined something like this happening to him, who has only begun his life. For now we can only hope for the best, and pray that God heals him. Thank you for your support.<br /><br /><br /><br />En el transcurso de unos días, mi primo había experimentado debilidad en las rodillas, erupciones en la piel y fiebres altas que no desaparecían. La primera vez que lo notaron con fiebre alta, se hizo una prueba de COVID-19, pero los resultados fueron negativos. Sufrió erupciones y moretones en la piel, así como dolorosas llagas en la boca. Mi tío y su esposa lo llevaron al hospital por puro miedo y preocupación. Después de realizar varias pruebas, se le detectó <strong>Leucemia</strong> <strong>Linfoblástica Aguda</strong>. La LLA se establece en etapas como las de células B y T, y actualmente tiene células B porque la enfermedad se encuentra en la médula ósea y otros órganos, como ocurre comúnmente con la LLA. Va a permanecer en el hospital durante un mes mientras se somete a quimioterapia y recibirá tratamiento durante 2 años. Es más probable que sus habilidades motoras pierdan su función y tendrá que recibir fisioterapia.<br /><br /><br />Mi primo pequeño, Giancarlo o Gianni, tiene 4 años y está lleno de vida. Es un niño muy alegre e inteligente; a quien le encanta jugar béisbol y jugar con su hermano y hermana mayores. Estaba tan sano como cualquier otro niño de 4 años, pero ahora mismo está en una cama de hospital, débil por la quimioterapia y los medicamentos que tiene que tomar para el cáncer de huesos antes mencionado. Pero incluso a través de esto, continúa luchando por su vida.<br /><br /><br />Su donación, por mucho que sea, ayudará a Gianni y su familia con todos los tratamientos que necesita. Todos estamos viviendo tiempos difíciles ahora, y mi tío se ha mantenido como la única fuente de ingresos para la familia. Como muchos saben, estos tratamientos y las facturas del hospital son muy costosos. Y si no puede donar, le agradeceríamos que lo mantuviera en sus pensamientos y oraciones. Gianni's Fight Against Leukemia

<p dir="ltr">Metro Cat Rescue coordinates the volunteer care of many outdoor cats in a number of colonies. We're working hard to bring some inside to socialize and to place in good homes. This takes lots of time, space and money.
</p>

<p dir="ltr">Our day with the rescue cats starts at 6am and ends at 8pm. Volunteer feeding of community cats is at dawn.
</p>

<p dir="ltr">Many dozens of cats in a number of colonies receive food and clean water every day. Shelters have been constructed for as many as we can. A daily census is taken. If a cat goes missing, a search is conducted to be able to provide medical attention if needed.
</p>

<p dir="ltr">Beautiful Venus DeCoco, the cat in the picture above, is one of our success stories. Venus DeCoco was a kitten living in a cared for colony of outdoor cats in an inner city parking lot.
</p>

<p dir="ltr">As the chill of autumn set in once and for all, the tyke's health began to fail.  Venus was a feral cat when she arrived. Indeed, when first placed in her temporary quarters, Ms. DeCoco delivered a solid bite to a finger with one long tooth neatly bouncing off of the bone.
</p>

<p dir="ltr">Venus came to Metro Cat Rescue sick with a cold and had to be kept by herself so as not to infect the other kittens and cats. Missing her life of freedom and friends, the little girl often sobbed with tears falling from her eyes. Very wild, human friendship at first was rejected.
</p>

All volunteer -- receiving neither grants nor tax payer dollars -- we depend on community support.

<p dir="ltr">Our dream is to establish a facility to provide care for homeless kittens and cats with easily treated but contagious conditions &#160;-- those innocents that now elsewhere &#160;regularly are made to die. &#160; Sadly, a lack of funds has kept Metro Cat Rescue's goal on a distant horizon. &#160; Without the necessary resources, each day there are cats that we can't help. Indeed, last summer, there was a dip in donations and adoptions. I would not let the cats go hungry, so I scraped by eating little more than bread, rice and beans myself.
</p>

<p dir="ltr">Little Blake the Ouija Cat is just one of our success stories. &#160;On August 20, 2012, &#160;she was rescued after being left on the sidewalk by a trash can near a post office. &#160;Too weak to stand, the very young kitten was covered with fleas. She also had an eye infection, ear mites, ringworm and intestinal parasites.
</p>

<p dir="ltr">Luckily, the tyke was small enough and the day was warm enough so that her entire body could be dipped in the bathroom sink. The fleas still on the head were carefully removed with a fine comb. And that was the easy part! The other conditions required considerable care and the application of medication. &#160;
