Hi everyone! My name is Siobhan Armstrong, and I’m raising money for a cause that means a lot to me. Khan Academy Khan Academy’s mission is to provide a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere. Our platform offers free high-quality, standards-aligned learning resources - instructional videos, practice questions, quizzes and articles - that cover preschool through early college academic subjects with a focus on math and science. We also partner directly with schools and districts in the United States to implement Khan Academy across classrooms to reach historically under-resourced communities. We are deeply committed to efficacy, there are over 50 impact studies that demonstrate how our learning model successfully drives learning outcomes. Worldwide, more than 180 million registered learners use Khan Academy in 190+ countries and 50+ languages. Every contribution, big or small, makes a real impact. Even just a few dollars can help move this mission forward and reach those who need it most. If you can’t donate right now, sharing this fundraiser is also incredibly helpful. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. It means the world to me.
I never imagined I would be in this position, but I am reaching out for help after a devastating experience. I was in the process of moving and had loaded my vehicle with everything I had collected over the years—items that held deep meaning to me, many from relatives who have passed away. While I was moving, just two blocks from the police station in Berkeley, I was held up at gunpoint, assaulted, and my car was stolen with everything inside. After the assault, I was left with nothing. Among the things taken were my son’s cap and gown and the brand new suit I bought him from Nordstrom as a graduation present. He never even got to wear it, and now it’s gone. Every purse I owned, my wallet, all my credit cards, makeup, clothes, shoes, designer shoes, and perfume—everything I worked hard for—are gone. I don’t even have a toothbrush or shampoo. I made a police report, but nothing has surfaced. My son’s graduation is in two days, and I have nothing to wear, nor can I replace his suit in time. As a single mother, I’ve worked two jobs to give my son a good life, and I’ve never received child support. My son has a learning disability and has worked so hard to graduate with A’s and B’s. He should be celebrating, not worrying about me and our troubles. I am crushed and at a loss for words. I can’t go to work because I have no transportation, and if I don’t work, I can’t get paid. Your support will help me replace essentials, get back on my feet, and allow us to attend my son’s graduation with dignity. Thank you for helping me and my son start rebuilding at this time of need. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to us as we try to recover from this loss.

I am a single mother reaching out for help after a traumatic experience that has turned my life upside down. While we were moving, I was held at gunpoint and my truck was stolen. In that moment, everything I owned—including irreplaceable items like my wedding ring and all my jewelry—was taken from me. Now, I am left without a way to get around, and I am struggling to provide for myself and my son during this difficult time. This situation has affected us deeply, especially with my son's graduation coming up next week. Because of what happened, I need support to replace his cap and gown so he can celebrate this important milestone. The funds raised will also help us secure transportation and cover basic necessities as we work to rebuild and move forward. Thank you for helping me and my son get back on our feet at this horrible time. Your kindness and generosity mean more than words can express, and any support you can offer will make a real difference in our lives.

I care deeply about my family, especially my son, and making sure he has the opportunities and support he deserves. As a single mother, I have worked hard for years to provide for my family and overcome challenges. Right now, my biggest concern is replacing essential items that were lost and making sure my son can fully participate in his graduation and celebrate this important milestone. Having reliable transportation is also critical for getting to work, handling daily responsibilities, and supporting my family. Any help brings us one step closer to getting back on our feet during this difficult time.
