Hi, this is Zoe. Our great friend Anne Sarsfield is helping us organise a fund raiser. We have been close friends for many years, hopefully many more. All funds from this quiz night at the brilliant Hare & Hounds in Claygate, Esher, will go towards funding my husband, Simon, treatment to stay alive until a cure is available around 2030. Simon has Left anterior temporal Glioblastoma, IDH wild type, CNS WHO Grade 4, TERT promoter mutation, MGMT promoter unmethylated. Basically the worst brain cancer with no current cure. A cure is almost confirmed in 2030. So this is to extend his life until then. NHS treatment is very limited and has no effect on this cancer. So all treatments are private, some not available in the UK, and the ones we are targeting are all DNA based (IOSK, DC_VAX or CeGaT, awaiting confirmation as to which is going to buy the most time for Simon) and between £107k and £200k each, so evenings like this are crucial. This is the 1st local one so crucial. Apart from minor short term memory loss, he is 100% and you'll see this in the video above, and will hopefully drop in to the Quiz night.
