Meet Bucket
Rescued from the SEACCA Shelter in Los Angeles, California.
Bucket’s life hasn’t been easy. His previous owner went to prison, leaving him behind to enter the shelter system. When we found him, he had small cuts scattered across his body, and painful bacterial sores on his feet, legs, and elbows — clear signs of a rough and neglected past.
Despite all he’s been through, Bucket is now safe in a loving foster home. But the emotional scars run deep.
Over the past week, Bucket has started showing behavioral signs of fear and trauma — low growling when crated, resistance to redirection, and fear-based reactions during grooming and vet visits. He even lunged during an ear cleaning and again at his first vet appointment. These aren't signs of aggression — they are cries for help from a dog who's had to survive in a world that never showed him kindness.
And yet, there's another side of Bucket.
The side that leans in for belly rubs. The side that loves a warm bath. The side that wants to trust — and just needs a little help to get there.
This is where you come in.
Bucket deserves the chance to heal, both physically and emotionally. We are raising funds to provide him with professional training at Compton K9 in Los Angeles — a program that specializes in trauma-informed behavioral rehabilitation.
With your support, we can help Bucket become the best version of himself — confident, calm, and loved.
