Our father wasn't always a perfect parent, and he wasn't always present for us when we were growing up. But as we got older, we were able to reconnect with him and truly get to know the genuine, good man he became. He was loved by his friends, family, and community, and his presence meant a lot to all of us. Losing him so suddenly and violently has completely destroyed our family. He was murdered—not taken by natural causes—and the shock and pain of his loss is something we are still struggling to process. What makes this even harder is knowing that his killer is still out there. She admitted to murdering him and four other people, yet she is only being sentenced to nine years in prison. There is no justice for my father or for her other victims. She didn't just take my father from me; she shattered several families in the process. The lack of accountability has left us heartbroken and desperate for closure. With your help, I hope to raise enough money to hire a good lawyer to fight for justice—not just for my father, but for all the families affected by this tragedy. Any extra funds will go toward supporting our family as we try to heal and, if possible, to help the other grieving families as well.
