BPS: Free mental health services (and a dream) My name is Sergio. I'm a psychologist, a writer, and the founder of Balance Psychological Services (BPS). I was born in Peru, and I've spent over 20 years working in mental health. Like many of you, I’ve seen how hard it is to find help when you need it. Therapy is expensive. Appointments take weeks. And for Spanish speakers, or anyone without insurance, the barriers feel impossible. So I decided to build something different. BPS is a free, online mental health platform. No insurance. No appointments. No cost. Right now, you can visit our website and take a depression test. You’ll receive a personalized report with clear explanations, practical exercises, and a step-by-step plan. Vanessa, our AI assistant, is also available to talk — with warmth, without judgment, at any hour. And this is just the beginning. With your help, BPS will grow into something much bigger: More tests – for anxiety, insomnia, ADHD, bipolar disorder, anger management, and more. All free, all in Spanish (and soon in English and Chinese). A simple app – so anyone can access BPS offline, especially in rural areas. Versions for youth, men, and seniors – because different ages need different voices. A physical body for Vanessa – yes, a robot. A damaged unit, perhaps with a limp or a weak arm, but a real presence. A way to be there without a screen. Why am I asking for money? Because I’ve already built the first version with my own savings. But to reach more people, I need your help. The funds will go toward: Translating content into English and Mandarin. Developing new mental health tests. Building a basic app. Keeping everything free and independent.
