<div>On August 26th I'm scheduled for facial feminization surgery. I've been working towards this for a long time, through years of appointments, paperwork, and setbacks. I have advocated for myself against gatekeepers and misogynists. Now it is finally happening.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Insurance has agreed to pay a significant part of this, but my coverage has limits, and I'm asking for help with what falls outside that.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div><em>Here's exactly what I'm raising for:</em>

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div><strong>$6,403: surgery costs. </strong>

</div>

<div>My insurance sorted my face into "medically necessary" and "cosmetic". I have spent months negotiating a number of these initially so-called "cosmetic" procedures into the coverage scope of my surgery.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>This is the amount remaining after I fought tooth and nail. I'm launching three weeks out because I only just received an estimate for what I will owe, and I didn't feel it was right to fundraise until I had a clear quote.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Everything is part of the same operation, during the same session, and for the same reason. When I look in the mirror, I want to see myself. I don't want to drift away anymore.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>My insurance company doesn't pay for everything, so I have to. This includes $1,138 remaining on my insurance out-of-pocket maximum, which is due before I go under.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div><strong>$250: recovery supplies. </strong>

</div>

<div>Meal replacement shakes and electrolytes for the weeks I'll be on a soft liquid diet after having my jaw bone sawed down. Also includes compression garments and cold therapy for the swelling.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div><strong>$2,458: six weeks of rent and groceries. </strong>

</div>

<div>This is one of the more difficult parts to ask for. This year has been exceptionally hard on me &amp; it left my finances drained.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Recovery from facial feminization surgery is not a weekend: it's weeks of swelling, pain, and restricted eating, and a face I can't yet interview for jobs with.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>I need to be able to rest afterwards instead of pushing myself too early and setting back both my healing and employment efforts.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>That's $9,111 in total costs. The goal is set slightly above to cover estimated payment processing fees from GoFundMe. (Every donation gets charged 2.9% plus 30 cents.)

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Anything raised past the goal goes toward recovery time and continuing care. I lose my coverage in the next several months, so I need to have this surgery while I still can.<br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Many of you have known me for years. You've seen as i become even more myself in a hundred small iterations. This is the most major treatment I have ever had, and I can't cover it on my own.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>If you can donate, thank you. If you can't, sharing this page is also vital. Fundraising campaigns succeed through people who pass it along. Both matter; I mean that.
</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Thank you all for supporting me during an exhausting &amp; transformative season of my life. Solidarity and love. &lt;3

<div><strong>Support Trans &amp; Queer Comrades Impacted by Police Violence During SF Pride Weekend</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>During San Francisco Pride Weekend, SFPD violently assaulted and arrested trans and queer people celebrating in public on two consecutive nights. They tried to criminalize trans joy. We refuse to let police violence become another barrier to our survival.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>On Friday, June 26, SFPD stormed Trans March in San Francisco's Transgender District, where community members had gathered to celebrate Trans Pride. Approximately 100 officers violently arrested and assaulted trans people <strong>on the same corner where the Compton's Cafeteria Riots took place 60 years ago.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The following night, Saturday, June 27, SFPD again stormed a gathering of trans and queer people at Stud Alley, arresting more than 15 people who were dancing together. Across both nights, people were arrested, injured, and had personal belongings taken or damaged while simply gathering in community during Pride weekend.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>These attacks did not happen in isolation. Across the country, trans communities are facing an unprecedented wave of anti-trans legislation and escalating attempts to erase our existence. Here in San Francisco, we are witnessing a political shift toward reactionary, austerity-driven policies that rely on increased policing while cutting trans and HIV services in the communities they claim to protect. The PEOPLE prevented most of these cuts.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The SFPD’s violent suppression of trans joy, celebration, and collective liberation during Pride weekend is part of this broader political moment.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>PRIDE IS A RIOT!</strong> We honor the trans and queer ancestors who fought back at Compton's Cafeteria. Police violence against Black, Brown, trans, and queer communities is not new.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As autonomous organizers, we are raising funds to directly support everyone impacted by this police violence. <strong>100% of donations</strong> will be distributed to community members, including:
</div>
<ul>
<li>People who were arrested or injured
</li>
<li>People whose personal belongings were lost, damaged, or confiscated
</li>
<li>People who incurred expenses providing jail support and community care
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Donations will remain open until <strong>July 7 at 11:59 PM.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>On July 8</strong>, the fundraiser will end and donations will be distributed according to the community distribution guidelines below. A public accounting of all funds raised and distributed will be shared while protecting recipients' privacy.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Proposed distribution priorities:
</div>
<div>• 75% to people who were arrested.
</div>
<div>• 15% to non-arrested people who were physically injured.
</div>
<div>• 5% to people whose belongings were lost, damaged, or confiscated.
</div>
<div>• 5% to reimburse documented jail support and community care expenses.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you are able to give, please donate.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser with your community is an act of solidarity.
</div>

Support Trans Comrades After SFPD Violence

<div><strong>This fundraiser is dedicated to helping two loved ones very close to me, Robin and Charisma, who are dealing with serious financial hardship. As a result they are experiencing housing instability, lack of access to health care, and food insecurity. Please consider supporting Charisma and Robin during this difficult time! </strong><em>if you would like to learn more about their story, both parties have shared their experiences in their own words below. </em>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My name is Charisma! I am a black &amp; trans bay area native hoping to raise funds for myself and my loved one Robin with the aim of covering housing costs and providing financial stability for the both of us. I have lived in the Bay all my life, have been deeply a part of the local queer/trans community as well as the underground art scene (some may know me as The Queenby in the bay area zine community) for half a decade. I currently work as a bookseller in SF, a art collective member at Bay Made in Oakland, and I also make zines, comics, and more at various zine fests and art markets. Plus, I am a community organizer that helps run the BIPOC Transfeminine meet up group “Melanin and Estrogen”, a safe space for folks like me to meet, make art, meet others in the BIPOC trans community, and also get a little bit of mutual aid through a small fund I started with some friends outside of the group.
</div>
<div>Earlier this year my roommate/best friend of several years moved in with my past abuser with the knowledge of their behaviors and did so behind my back leaving me isolated in our apartment when my mental health was at an extremely low point due to a variety of factors. After learning of his deception, compounded by him getting swiftly fired, I had no choice but to move out. While I was able to find a place relatively quickly out of pure luck thanks to a friend, the suddenness of it financially destroyed me due to moving costs and also not having any savings to properly fund the move. While I got a bit of help here and there (including a small loan during my move) from some friends, I’ve had to support myself financially for years as I have no savings or other source of emergency funds to fall back on. Oftentimes relying on commissions, art markets, or mutual aid to get by if I am unable to meet my needs. I am also in a lot of debt to Wells Fargo (debt racked up from when I was forced to quit Hot Cookie in 2023 due to sexual abuse and racist behavior, I now owe my bank around $1300), the IRS (I owe around $700), my roommate who is moving out (around $300 for helping pay for first month rent when moving in). My deposit from my old place went towards paying back a friend who helped me move and other moving expenses that the old roommate never helped to chip in for. That plus bills (around $266 for water, PG&amp;E, phone, internet, etc.), rent ($670), groceries, etc has left me living paycheck to paycheck and hard to get any stable footing which also resulted in me having to quit therapy due to not being able to afford it anymore. Thankfully due to one of my roommate’s moving out suddenly, I am working on getting Robin plus another roommate (in total there would be 4 of us in our 3 bedroom apartment) moved in which would both house Robin (which she will explain her situation in the next paragraph) and reduce all of our costs living together. I plan to use my portion of funds to pay off all of my debt (In total is close to $2,700). Any extra that comes in will go towards utilities, rent, savings, therapy/regaining healthcare and my BIPOC transfeminine meet up group Melanin &amp; Estrogen. I will post updates on our situation as time goes on.

</div>
<div>Hi, my name is Robin Oliva. I’m a disabled transfemme artist based in Oakland who has been making queer art for eleven years under the name DiscoMelon. I have spent much of my adult life homeless and during the height of the pandemic and again the last half of 2022 I survived multiple unsafe living situations and sexual assaults. These all have left me with a growing number of physical and neurological disabilities that led to the destruction of my career and left me financially dependent on an unstable relationship and home both of which I was forced to flee this summer for my own safety. It is extremely difficult now for me to function socially, struggling even while homeless to ask for help from my community and open up to those close to me about my well-being or what I went through. Since leaving my time has been spent; couch surfing, subletting, trying to find a home, finding work that I can handle with my disabilities, recovering from an emergency wisdom tooth extraction and resulting case of dry socket, and rebuilding my life and career from square one. My current housing will end on the 15th of December but now with Charisma I have an opportunity for long term housing ahead of me and I need assistance to bridge the gap. My portion of this would be toward covering my first two month’s rent, utilities, and deposit ($1900~), cost of personal care items(soap, toothpaste, shaving supplies, etc) and groceries while I reapply for calfresh ($300~), furniture and bedding (mattress, dresser, sheets etc) ($1000~), costs of moving (such as gas and transportation), and securing my own financial stability while I rebuild my income, credit, health, and independence. Any extra would go toward covering medical supplies as well as transportation and post operative expenses for an upcoming gender affirming surgery. I was able to make it this far because of Charisma and the rest of my community and for that I cannot express my gratitude enough. Now with your help we could both have a chance at a fresh start, as she will summarize below.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Due to how close we are (as well as the nature of our situations), Robin and I decided to come together and do this gofundme. Robin and I have known each other now for almost two years, having met in the backyard of my best friend’s birthday party. We have grown extremely close over the year and a half we have known each other, having numerous hangouts, crying on the other’s shoulder and more. Having been hurt by the same folks, I immediately jumped to help house Robin throughout her current situation. In addition to helping care for her after a recent surgery she had, we provided the other mutual emotional support as we both ground from our respective situations. Due to one of my roommates suddenly moving out in the middle of all of this, our situations helix-ed into one as by having her move in would not only of course fix her housing dilemma, but again will fix my own housing dilemma, reduce costs for us across the board, and help us start a new chapter. We set the goal for $10k so that way we both get roughly 5k+ each. Deposits will be split down the middle as they come in and go towards our respective and mutual goals. Mutually we will also use funds towards any housing expenses (deposit, rent, etc), furniture, etc. for our apartment and again will post updates across the weeks.

Support Charisma and Robin's Path to Financial Stability

<div>Hello community and loved ones far and wide,

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>We’re writing on behalf of our dear friend, <strong>Elliott</strong>, who is facing a very serious new medical diagnosis and needs urgent community support.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Elliott was recently diagnosed with a rare brain tumor that is located in the right lateral ventricle of his brain (where the cerebral spinal fluid flows). This tumor has been causing him severe, debilitating headaches that have been getting progressively worse with time.

</div>

<div>Unfortunately, Elliott learned that the only safe and sure way to remove this tumor is through brain surgery (craniotomy). Without this surgery, the tumor’s location poses severe risks to his health and could eventually become life-threatening.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Elliott’s craniotomy is scheduled for May 28th, 2025. <strong>This is a high-risk and invasive procedure, and while we are absolutely envisioning his full recovery on the other side of this, the journey ahead will still be long</strong>, especially because Elliott lives with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), a connective tissue disorder that significantly slows down his healing.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>While most people recover from a craniotomy in 6-8 weeks, Elliott knows that he can expect to need at least 10-12 weeks of recovery time due to his complex medical needs. During this time, he will be unable to work and will require extensive post-surgical care and rehabilitation.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>We are aiming to raise <strong>$20,000 to ensure that Elliott can cover his medical expenses, post-surgery rehabilitation costs, and all living expenses throughout the duration of his recovery</strong>. Every contribution brings him one step closer to healing without the fear of financial hardship.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Anyone who knows Elliott knows how resilient, kind, loving, and generous he is. Asking for help isn’t easy for him, but no one should have to face something like this alone. <strong>With surgery fast approaching on May 28th, we are hoping to reach this goal as soon as possible to give Elliott the security he needs before and after this life-saving surgery.</strong>

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Every donation, no matter the amount, will make a direct impact. If you’re unable to give, sharing this fundraiser would also mean the world to us and to Elliott.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>If we are fortunate enough to exceed our goal, any additional funds will be directed toward mutual aid efforts, supporting other disabled and marginalized individuals in crisis—something Elliott deeply values.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Thank you so much for coming together to support Elliott during this difficult time.

</div>

<div>Hi, I'm Persephone Possum! I'm a disabled trans woman, comic book store worker, and independent author living in the Bay Area.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I'm seeking breast augmentation surgery at The Gender Confirmation Center Of San Francisco to deal with my debilitating chest dysphoria. I am currently waiting to hear back if MediCal will cover my surgery, but the wait time for authorization could be six months or more, and I could still get denied. I do not have the time to wait with no certainty of approval, especially given the current state of the federal regime, which could wipe-out my public health insurance or make trans surgeries funded with our tax dollars illegal any day now. I cannot bear this. I need to have a concrete plan.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I am seeking $12,000 dollars to cover the surgery out of pocket, as well as 1-2 months off of work to recover as needed. If insurance ends up covering the surgery, or if I raise more than I need, the money will be used to help cover other living expenses and then redistributed to other girls seeking surgery.

<div>In her final year of terror in San Francisco, London Breed remained steadfast in making unhoused people’s lives absolute hell. All while an overabundance of vacancies continue to sit empty in San Francisco every night.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Even before the Grants Pass ruling that now criminalizes unhoused people, London was truly ahead of her time. She comfortably sat in her city hall plantation, while getting SFPD, DPW, and Urban Alchemy to sweep the streets, throw away (or confiscate and sell) people’s tents, personal documents, medications, mobility devices, and valuables.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>She may be out of office now, but that doesn’t mean we will ever stop.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>These funds will be used to buy tents to give directly to our houseless neighbors this winter. Climate catastrophe is all around us and getting more intense, our houseless neighbors deserve to seek shelter by any means necessary without being terrorized.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Our support is based on the following ideas and principles:

</div>

<div>- People must have the ability to self-direct their own care and services.

</div>

<div>- Conservatorship kills. Cops terrorize people, they don't "offer help". ABOLISH SFPD.

</div>

<div>- As much as possible: Supporting people with direct resources (housing, food, cash, etc.) is better than fake government-directed services or NPIC foolishness.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>fuck london breed and daniel lurie/ fuck sfpd / abolish brooke jenkins and avenge banko brown / fuck the war on the tenderloin / years later and still going strong / we keep us safe / RIP MARIO WOODS / 200,000+ vacant units /

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Last year GAY SHAME raised $6K to buy tents and tarps to give out to our houseless neighbors. but we are not a direct service provider, but we hope this can help our friends and neighbors survive.

<div>Hey all. Its been a week for our friends. Here is the download from Davey.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Pros:
</div>
<div>Animals are safe
</div>
<div>People/animals have a place to be
</div>
<div>We still have a house
</div>
<div>A/C was not damaged
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Cons:
</div>
<div>Giant freakin tree fell
</div>
<div>GIANT TREE is a GIANT project
</div>
<div>Roof bent
</div>
<div>Drains &amp; awning bust
</div>
<div>Electrical tore off
</div>
<div>Still dangerous live wires
</div>
<div>Stairs to front door destroyed
</div>
<div>---------------------------------
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Obviously these repairs will cost money and we could use your and your friends help with this one. Thank you so much and we will keep you all updated on the progress. Right now, Bridger has a hatchet in hand and is taking the tree down piece by piece. We don't have a picture of the full cost but we know its gonna be $$$
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Funds will be used to:
</div>
<ul>
<li>Restore electrical
</li>
<li>Removal of tree and debris
</li>
<li>repair roof
</li>
<li>repair stairs
</li>
<li>Possibly temporary housing?
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Those are probably oversimplifications of the costs, but those are the needs. It would be fantastic if we could get the funds raised in the next week or two, as Bridger is flying out to help me post surgery recovery and won't be back until the new year.

<div>Omni Commons was founded in 2014 by individuals and collectives who shared a vision of creating a more equitable commoning of resources and meeting of human needs. Since its inception, Omni Commons has hosted many local progressive organizations and is more committed than ever to continue our mission of transformative justice by supporting organizations that strengthen human relationships and promote human dignity. Our member collectives contribute to the greater social welfare of the Bay Area through issues that are important to the health and development of our local community: science, art, food, mental health, physical health, social justice, technology, creative reuse, waste reduction and much more. Critically, these activities are only possible with the availability of affordable physical space which can support in-person resource sharing and grassroots social development.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Omni Commons has reached crunch time in its private mortgage on the building; it must raise $900,000, otherwise the building may be foreclosed upon, causing more than 10 collectives to lose the place they call home. We’ve worked hard to get in the best position to raise this money—by improving cash flow, hosting more events and tenants, and seeking more grants—but the pandemic slowed our progress considerably, since people became wary of booking in-person events. Event bookings have picked up since then, but the loan is due very soon. Every dollar we earn here will go towards the $900,000 we need to raise. If we raise the full amount, we can be debt-free! If we don’t get enough, we may lose the building.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>NOW is the time when Omni needs you most! Please help us continue the important work that is being done here by contributing to Omni today. No amount is too small and is greatly appreciated. Feel free to share our message with your family and friends!

Orlando Zavala is a local farmer in Pescadero that you may know.  He has been farming organically in the area since 2012.  <br /><br />He is originally from El Salvador where he and his family practiced 'dry farming' without irrigation.  With his low impact farming technique he has grown thousands of pounds of organic tomatoes, squash and beans for the residents of the south coast.  <br /><br />While many traumas surround his life previously in this area he is currently experiencing the effects of a life altering injuring. <br /><br />About 6 months ago he fell onto the edge of a metal stairway, injuring his hip and back.  <br /><br />Covid-19 created an economic crisis that ruined his ability to sell his sustainable food products.  Then we were hit by a wild fire that blocked out the sun and destroyed one of the few cash crops he takes a lot of pride in growing: tomatoes.<br /><br />This years profits have disappeared for him but also he is now injured and unable to plant or prepare for his typical 2021 harvest.  <br /><br />He needs our help now to pay for medical care.  He does not read or write so I will act to distribute funds for his medical treatment. <br /><br />We are connected through food and conservation of this precious land. <br /><br />Please help show care to this community member so he can continue farming: the only work he knows and loves.

Medical Care for Injured Pescadero Farmer

Hello my name is Tristan Trudeau, a close friend of Viet Tran. We are located in Des Moines, Iowa. I’m looking to help raise money to help Viet Trans mom with the cost of court, jail housing and any other fees he would have to pay. He was doing his social duty and is being penalized by the state for his role in the peaceful Black Lives Matter protests in Des Moines, Iowa. <br /><br />Viet was accused of participating  in a televised broadcast supposedly speaking out against the police brutality which led to a multitude of fraudulent charges including the rare charge of dissemination intelligence data in addition to interference with official acts and disorderly conduct. <br /><br />The television story did not show the name of the person speaking about the document, but Des Moines police spokesman Sgt. Paul Parizek said police “identified” the source as Tran. The reporter who included the bulletin in her story and tweeted photos of the document has not been charged.<br /><br />His arrest took place in a violent manner in which 20 separate police officers surrounded him guns drawn against his nonviolent and unarmed person. He has since been featured in the New York Post, AP News, WHO 13, Star Tribune and Vietnamese National Television as well as numerous other news organizations.<br /><br />Anything you can provide is deeply appreciated. Help my brother and friend conquer these unjust charges.<br /><br />We will get into contact with him and get his bank account info to make sure all the money will be deposited to him.

Hi!<br /><br />I'm Morgan and last year I began my medical transition, I received hormones and began to finally see the changes in my body that I had always dreamed of.<br /><br />Eventually, I decided I want to begin the next step in achieving the body I always dreamed of having, and looked into top surgery. I was very excited to learn that my insurance covered the surgeries and that the doctor I wanted, Dr. Scott Mosser M.D of the Gender Confirmation Center, was in-network as well. I got all of my paperwork ready and documents to send, and waited patiently to see if I would get approved.<br /><br />However, I was denied, despite having been diagnosed on multiple accounts with having gender dysphoria and meeting all of the criteria of WPATH for surgery.<br /><br />I'm currently in the process of trying to get my claim appealed but after talking with several people I'm very positive that it will get denied again like so many other people have had done.<br /><br />Top surgery is vital, for my physical and mental well being, and so even though my insurance won't cover it, I'm still going to pursue it. Rather than taking out a loan (as I just graduated from college and the last thing I need is more debt), I'm trying to pay out of pocket. The cost of the surgery is $10,000 and I'll have to pay for a flight and hotel as I need to stay a week in San Francisco while I heal until the follow-up visit. I have enough money saved up to pay for the room, board, and the flight, but coming up with the cost of the surgery is impossible because of the current employment crisis.<br /><br />To put it into perspective how vital and important top surgery is, there are only three things I want in life right now--a stable and steady job, my own apartment, and top surgery, and I'm willing to give up both if I can have top surgery done. To me Top surgery will complete me, it will allow me to stop second-guessing people's judgments on me, and bring me one step closer to finally enjoying what I see in the mirror, and cherishing myself.<br /><br />Please donate as you feel but I understand not everyone can afford to donate all the time, so I'm asking that if you can share my page and journey with everyone, that's more than enough.
