<div>My name is Nae, and I’m Scott’s sister. Years ago, when I faced my own serious medical journey, Scott stood beside me. Now, our roles are reversed, and today I’m asking you to stand with us too.

<div><strong>A Brother, a Husband, a Father</strong>

<div>If you know Scott, you already know this isn’t a story that defines him. Scott is a devoted husband to his wife, Imelda, and a proud father of two grown children. He’s a runner, a gardener, a creative writer, and a lifelong learner with degrees in electrical engineering and business. He built a consulting company, launched a podcast, and has spent years mentoring and encouraging others; often quietly, always sincerely.

<div>But above all else, Scott is a man of faith. Not the loud kind. The lived kind. He believes deeply in showing up, loving well, and trusting God even when the road ahead doesn’t make sense. That faith has been the anchor for our entire family throughout this fight.

<div><strong>A Road No One Chooses</strong>
</div>

<div>In the Autumn of 2022, Scott discovered a solid lump in his thigh. It was diagnosed as soft-tissue sarcoma—a rare and frightening cancer. He was referred to the Vanderbilt Sarcoma Center in Nashville, where radiation was followed by surgery to remove the tumor. Extensive testing and DNA sequencing left doctors unable to clearly classify the cancer, which added another layer of uncertainty to an already overwhelming diagnosis. When Scott first learned he would need surgery, his question to the surgeon wasn’t if he’d walk again, but whether he’d be able to run. That’s my brother. Months later, after rehab turned walking into jogging, he sent his surgeon a photo of himself crossing a 5K race finish line in 35 minutes. It was inspiring.

<div>For a while, scans were clear. Life felt like it was moving forward again.
</div>

<div>Then came May 2025.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The routine X-ray looked fine, but advanced AI imaging spotted what the eyes could not see. The following CT Scans revealed the sarcoma had spread to Scott’s lungs, bone, and liver. Because the tumor was still unidentified, the only treatment initially offered was an older chemotherapy with low success rates and severe side effects.

<div>Scott and Imelda faced one of the hardest decisions of their lives. With faith, prayer, and trembling, they declined chemo and asked the doctor for another way. The silver lining was that the tumors were small, allowing the oncologist time to review the genetic results and classify the tumor as PEComa; an ultra-rare sarcoma. This allowed treatment using a targeted-drug with superior outcomes.

<div>In August 2025, Scott began the treatment. By January 2026, most tumors had stabilized, and the one in his liver had disappeared entirely. We are so grateful. But the fight is not over.
</div>

<div><strong>The Hidden Weight of This Fight</strong>
</div>

</div>
<div>As treatment continues, Scott has had to step back from full-time work. Fatigue, medical appointments, side-effects, and eye complications have made reading, writing, and screen time difficult. For someone whose calling and income revolve around communication and creativity, this challenge has been especially hard.
</div>

<div>At the same time, the financial burden has grown heavy. Medical bills for infusions, scans, specialists, radiation, and supportive care continue to pile up as income has decreased. The strain is real, more than Scott and his family can carry alone.
</div>
