Scott has faced a series of difficult challenges over the past few years, making it increasingly hard to cover basic living expenses. After multiple surgeries—including spinal fusion, eye surgery, and double hernia repair—Scott’s mobility has become limited. Living with type 2 diabetes, neuropathy, and a Charcot fracture that will not heal, even simple activities like walking have become painful. Scott relies on social security for income, but payments don’t arrive at the start of the month, resulting in late fees from the landlord that take away from money needed for food and other essentials.

 Scott’s car, a 2002 model, needs significant repairs to be safe for highway travel, and there aren’t enough funds for yearly license and insurance. On top of personal needs, Scott helps care for his son’s loving lab-bulldog mix, who suffers from ear problems, gut issues, and severe arthritis. Vet bills are expensive, and Scott does his best to support his family despite limited resources. Years ago, Scott liquidated retirement accounts to help three children with college, leaving nothing to fall back on. Vision problems from diabetic retinopathy have made reading difficult, and outings beyond the grocery store and doctor’s office are rare.

 Despite these hardships, Scott remains hopeful. Support from others would mean relief from constant financial worry, the ability to help family, and the chance to reconnect with the community. Scott dreams of volunteering at a local cat shelter to assist stray cats, giving back in a meaningful way once stability is regained. Every contribution will help Scott cover urgent living expenses, car repairs, and veterinary care, making a real difference in daily life.
