Recently Mo Madhi (21), who is still in Gaza, asked me to help him set up a fundraiser for his close friend, Faris Abu Musameh, and his famly. These two families are neighbours, and the boys went to school together and have known each other since they were small.

<div>Faris is 21 years old and graduated from high school with honours, scoring 97% in the science stream. He was enrolled at Al-Azhar University in Gaza, and was due to have graduated with a degree in Engineering and Information technology by now. His friends describe him as "full of life and positive energy. He dreamed of becoming an engineer with value to society."

<div>Faris lives with 7 other family members. His 3 younger brothers are Mohammed (17) (unrelated to Mo Madhi), Mahmoud (8) and Ahmed (5). Their parents are Fadwa &amp; Yasser Abu Musameh, who both acquired disabilities after a polio infection many years ago. His sister-in-law Aya and her son Essam (6) also now live with them after being displaced from Northern Gaza. Sadly, Aya's husband has been missing since the start of the "war", and Faris' family have sheltered them ever since.

<div>Mohammed Abu Musameh had a keen interest in sports, fitness and body building. Sadly, he has lost over 20kg of weight in recent months due to severe malnutrition. He should have finished high school and started university life by now (rear centre).

<div>Conditions in Gaza are dire after over 600 days of relentless bombing, siege and months of extreme hunger. The lives of Faris' family members have been reduced to a daily fight for survival. There is no medicine, no clean water and almost no food. They are mentally and physically exhausted, living in constant fear and uncertainty.

<div>This fundraiser has been created to provide as much relief as possible for Faris' family during these desperate times. The money will be used for food and medical care, as well as any necessary interventions to keep them safe within Gaza. Once the families' basic needs are covered, remaining funds will be devoted to Faris' university education so that he can fulfil his dream of becoming an engineer.

Help Faris and his family survive Gaza

<div>Hi  my name is Natasha, parent to Joseph my son age 11 who has successfully gained places at both Royal Ballet School and Elmhurst Ballet School in association with (Birmingham Royal Ballet) to start in September 2022. Whilst part of the tuition and boarding fees can be covered with a government grant we still need to raise money for the remainder of the fees, uniform and travel expenses to and from the school. Joseph is so lucky to have gained a place in both schools and would love to be able to attend one of them, he has worked so hard to get this far. After we are able to evacuate them, the remaining $25,000 will go towards paying for rent, food, education, and clothes for our family of 7 in Egypt. We had to rebuild from zero after our home was bombed, and so we have no means to continue paying rent as refugees in Egypt. In the end, any amount you can donate will help my family meet our basic needs and we will be so, so grateful to you for your generosity and pure heart.

Help Mahdi Family from Gaza Reunite Safely

<div>These are days where fear mixes with hunger, where the sounds of bombing merge with children’s cries, and where there is no space for rest or safety. Every morning we wake up with the same question: Will we live until the end of the day?

<div>Electricity is cut most of the time, water is scarce, and the markets are empty except for high prices. Even sleep has become a luxury, as the bombing never allows our eyes to close, and the smell of smoke and gunpowder fills our breath day and night.

</div>

</div>

<div>Every day we hear news of neighbors or friends who have lost their homes or loved ones, and we feel that our turn may come at any moment. The children in our family ask us: "When will the war end?"… and we have no answer.

</div>

</div>

<div>We all live together in a small two-story house that barely fits our bodies, let alone our dreams. Six of my siblings are married with children, and the house is divided among us the way life’s breath is divided in hardship. As for me, I sleep in the guest room—not because it’s the nicest, but because it’s the only space left for me.

</div>

<div>My father was a baker who spent his life between the heat of ovens until his back bent and the years wore him down. My mother has always been our last wall of defense against need—patient, complaining only to God.

<div>When my father stopped working, we took up the responsibility. We worked in fields, workshops, and markets… We toiled without complaint, just to live with dignity, without stretching out our hands to anyone. After years of effort, we saved enough to start a small project: a chicken farm. We did not ask for wealth—only dreamed of a decent life.

Help Esam and his family evacuate Palestine

<div>All donations to this fundraiser will be used to pay for billboards in the UK that will help raise awareness for Long Covid and MECFS as well as demand urgent research and clinical trials.

<div>The government hasn't informed the public, they don't know why they are unwell and they don't know how badly we suffer with this disease. We need to continue to make our plight visible to the people of this country so that the press takes notice and amplifies our voice and together we can change the future of this disease for us and them.

<div>As of 8th December, 2023 we have collectively raised £5,980 together and currently have £133 moving forward.

<div>£5,640 was the total balance before we made the first withdrawal and £220.98 was deducted by GoFundMe (there is a screenshot on Twitter verifying this) which left us with £5,419.02.

<div>We then spent £2,700 for five billboards with Amplify Marketing - these billboards went live on the 5th and 6th of December - and then £2,849 will be spent for 75Media- these billboards go live on December 18th - which currently leaves us with £133.

<div>The fact that in the space of 8 weeks of the GoFundMe being launched the community have managed to secure TEN huge billboards (11 if you include the very first one at Bournemouth which was paid for seperately by an individual) is extremely impressive and shows promise that this could turn into a rolling, regular campaign if we continue to support it like we have done so far.

<div>Moving forward it's clear that we need to focus our efforts into specific targets around the UK such as Westminster, specific NHS buildings and medical research establishments. We will be acting as the UK branch of Not Recovered who have their own website www.notrecovered.org and have done incredible acts of advocacy already in their own right.

<div>Billboards and public advertising were an important form of advocacy for the HIV/AIDS movement and as many of us are too sick to attend protests I think this might be one of our best shots at fighting back. These billboards will make us more visible, draw attention to both Long Covid and MECFS and most importantly stress how the importance of medical research and treatments. Hopefully they will generate some media coverage, encourage civilians to Google the website and conditions and educate themselves and push back on this ridiculous belief that it's a mental illness and/or only affects a certain demographic.

<div>Amy Washington, known to many as, Long Tall Amy, Crazy Hair Amy, Amz or even Amy the Cake lady, was the most wonderful, loving, supportive and devoted individual that blessed every single life that she taught, walked, talked, danced, or baked in to.

<div>Amy tragically passed away suddenly on Monday 29th January 2024, aged just 33 leaving behind a legacy for her two children, Liliana (aged 3) and Zurion (aged 2), who will begin their new lives as a family of five with Amy’s mother Joy, and her twin brother and sister, Annabel and Issac.
</div>
<div>We want to support Joy and the children as they adapt to this new chapter of their lives together, to help adapt the family home and financially support Joy in this difficult time. Amy deserves a beautiful send off, and we want to honour her memory with a place for the children to visit her and keepsake items for her ashes for them to keep a part of her close with them. 
</div>

<div>As we type this, it is without a doubt that Amy would be telling us off for making a big fuss, as she typically would! She was courageously selfless, and would give her all to someone even if it meant her going without, just to ensure they didn’t go without.
</div>

<div>From her beautifully radiant and comforting smile, to her glamourous hair and makeup, Amy would light up a room with her aura with a dash of sprinkles in her steps. It also goes without saying that Amy was also a huge pillar of her community; whether in Chigwell, Loughton, Hertfordshire and later, all over the world. Amy dedicated her career in education to becoming a teacher, working with students from a range of ages before embarking on her travel journey.
</div>
<div>It was her life’s ambition to reach a new country for every year of her life, which as a result saw her jet from Brazil to Indonesia, India to Australia - topping her 32nd country with Morocco. She spent a huge part of her life in Australia, devoting herself to dance, living her life to the fullest and enjoying the hot sun, before becoming blessed with her beautiful children and moving back to the UK.
</div>

</div>
<div>Leaving the sun for freezing England was a huge adjustment - I always remember stepping into her flat which felt like walking into a sauna for the first few months! - and she rebuilt her life endlessly devoting her next step to her children’s happiness.
</div>

</div>
<div>Not long after moving she decided to utilise her spare time, which wasn’t actually spare time, more a few five minutes she should have got some sleep, she decided to keep busy and started baking as a hobby. Her baking business Amy’s Cakes &amp; Bakes soared, with orders flying in and her community flooding the stalls she booked with encouragement, joy, smiles and full bellies. She baked over <strong>40,000 pounds</strong> of treats in one year alone, often donating her profits or goodies to those who deserved a treat.
</div>

</div>
<div>But her spare time was <em>still</em> not slim enough! She then began working with her community to help those in difficult situations and need, from collecting items and shopping, to building foodbank parcels and delivering them home, to helping fund Christmas projects to ensure that children had presents and offering to look after more children for other parents to have down time. Amy did not stop, even up to the day of her passing, she was still offering her radiant community spirit with acts of kindness.

<div>Not only did Amy have a wonderful legacy that she has left behind, she was an outstanding, charismatic, doting, authentic Mother. Her children are full of individuality, laughter, happiness, dreams and aspirations, even if they did decide to wear two different pairs of shoes at the same time. Amy taught them that happiness is above all, <em>“you do you kiddo”</em> which was often the phase she used. Her home, full of beautiful art created together and photographs, albums full of natural, unfiltered, raw love and dedication to her children. She often gave the “Bluey” family cartoon vibes with her parenting – it was refreshing and more often enough, mesmerising to see how committed she was to her two little radiant rays of light. She did face trials and tribulations; however, she would show that it is okay to be so little in such a big world, she showed adults that it is difficult to be a parent and she was still so elegant in every way.
</div>
<div>Amy never judged, she could pull faces of confusion when you would confide in her of course, but she never judged. Her empathy was open and heartfelt. She listened, she would advise and comfort you, an agony aunt to so many. Her podcast length voice notes to close friends and family kept you going, pulling you out of your darkest times with a funny meme she’d seen or memory you’d shared.
</div>

<div>Amy had time for everyone, even if she was rushing, even if she was covered in the children’s paint, or food, or even if she was in pain from standing. She stood for justice, for injustice in any which way possible, within her own personal life and those that came to her for support, you bet, Amy would research and hyper fixate until she had an answer. The determination she possessed within herself and dedication to put the world to rights is entirely inspirational.

<div>Amy was, still is and will always be an inspiration to many. She was a great source of peace, harmony and comfort for many.

<div>Remission Biome is a citizen science, patient-led project of the non-profit, decentralized research organization, Renegade Research. We are driven to improve the quality of life for patients with ME/CFS, Long COVID, and other infection associated chronic illnesses.

<div>Our community is collectively self-experimenting with the Remission Biome protocol, which was born out of the discovery that one specific trigger, a commonly prescribed antibiotic, led to remission events for many patients. These remission events varied from minutes to days and, in many cases, led to improvements in baseline for various time periods. Remission events entail a complete cessation of all symptoms, as if the body were completely healed.

They want to take action, whether because they perceive it as unjust and inefficient or because they are deeply suffering from these lackluster results as patients awaiting a path out of their disabling disease.

<div>Our participants fund part to all of the $4,300-6,000 that it costs to do the protocol on average. Through your donations, we offer financial support to those who are unable to pay the entire amount, committing to equity and fair access to our protocol, and striving for better data that truly represents our community. Not only do our participants invest financially in our research project by covering some or all of the expenses associated with our citizen science research, but they also dedicate a tremendous amount of time and effort to tracking symptoms and collecting usable data, paying it forward to future participants in the protocol.

RemissionBiome Community Science Project

<strong>Eta Maria Sapiano   </strong>                                                                     <strong>(01/12/1940 - 29/01/2021)</strong><br /><br />Our mum and wife Eta was a very beautiful, vibrant woman who lived life to its fullest. Married to her loving husband Tony for 59 years. She had a great sense of humour and loved to host family gatherings. <br /><br />One day 18 years ago, complications during an operation left her with a damaged bowel and we were told that our mum would not survive.  They managed to save quite a bit of the small bowel and we were informed that the only way to save her life would be to perform a colostomy, which would leave her with a stoma. <br /><br />The operation went ahead and although we were all overjoyed to have our wonderful wife &amp; mum back, we were all concerned as to how this life changing event would affect her. We needn’t have worried - she was soon back to her normal self, enjoying life. She always dressed with impeccable taste and you would never have known that she had colostomy bag.<br /><br />She said that she was so grateful that the colostomy operation saved her life, and gave back her independence.  And we are all so grateful that we had those extra 18 years with our wonderful mum and wife Eta.<br /><br />This is why Colostomy UK is a charity close to our hearts, it gave us all those extra years to love her.<br /><br />Many thanks,<br /><br />Tony, Tanya &amp; Sandra xx

<p>The Vargerson family moved from London to Northern Cyprus in January 2015, stirred by God’s calling on their lives to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to the Turkish Cypriot people and beyond. Through an incredible story of sacrifice, obedience and God’s provision, they have already acquired citizenship status, founded a registered charity and planted a vibrant church in the Iskele / Famagusta region.
</p>

<p>Deeply moved by the Vargerson’s desire to obey the great commission, and similarly responding to the call of God to the region, the Webster family moved from London to Northern Cyprus in September 2019. Adjusting from London to Cypriot life has been challenging to say the least, but God’s faithfulness has been overwhelming!<br /><br /><br /><strong>The Businesses</strong><br /><br />At the start of 2020, the two families felt stirred to pray about going into business partnership with each other. This really came unexpectedly at first, but the more the ideas and discussions progressed the clearer the vision became.<br /><br />We would start two businesses, one in a shop and one below the shop in an underground car park premises. The shop upstairs would become a deli-style sandwich bar, named Meral’s in honour of Donna’s late mother who was born in the same area. The basement car park would become Cyprus’s first Urban Axe Throwing experience, named Kingdom Axe Throwing.<br /><br />But, most importantly for us, the basement of the sandwich bar would become a fully furnished dedicated 24/7 prayer room. <br /><br />These two businesses would serve 6 key purposes:<br /><br />1. To provide a stable income for both families, reducing the burden on friends and family who kindly currently support us financially from abroad.<br /><br />2. To be Kingdom engine rooms, enabling us to build strong local relationships, develop friendships and trust with regular customers and minister to our neighbours in the love of Jesus.<br /><br />3. To create employment opportunities for all peoples. Cypriots, students, church volunteers amongst others.<br /><br />4. To start a mums and toddlers group to bless local mums who have no similar resources in their area.<br /><br />5. To use the premises as a community hub and base for the IYAD charity, to bless under-resourced and vulnerable local families with access to food provision, English speaking education and many other forms of community building support.<br /><br />6. Last but by no means least, to provide us with our own venue for Yaşam Fellowship church meetings, both on Sunday mornings and midweek prayer meetings. This point alone would be a huge blessing to the church here in Northern Cyprus.<br /><br />We made a plan, both families pooled their assets, signed a rental agreement and and were just over half way to completion of the shop-fitting stage when COVID-19 hit the island.<br /><br />Almost two months later and with no income since we were forced to down tools in fitting out the shop, we are now asking for any help you can offer us to complete this enterprise and see this vision come to fruition!<br /><br />With your help of any donation you can spare us, we really believe that we can build two successful Kingdom businesses that will hugely bless the Famagusta area and beyond!<br /><br />Thank you so much in advance and God bless,<br /><br />The Vargerson and Webster families x<br /><br />
