I am deeply aware of how life saving it can be to have an animal by your side, especially when you are experiencing homelessness. In my community, many individuals living on the streets have pets who are their closest companions, but they often can't afford to care for them in ways that are critical for their health and well-being. Unfortunately, most homeless shelters and housing programs will not accept individuals with pets unless they have certified service dog paperwork, making it even harder for people to find a safe place to stay. This leaves many people and their beloved animals without shelter or support, facing harsh weather and uncertain conditions together. To help, I am organizing weekly supply drops at a consistent location in my neighborhood. Each week, I will provide sleeping bags, hand warmers, gift cards for fast food restaurants, snacks, and water bottles for people, as well as dog food, booties for hot pavement or snow, puppy jackets, and blankets for the pets. Every single donation will go directly toward helping unhoused pet owners and their loyal four-legged companions get through tough times with a little more comfort and care. Your support can make a real difference for people and their pets who are struggling to find shelter and basic necessities.
