Sapphire

My name is Sapphire, and I am a survivor of human trafficking. When I was 19, I was brought to Las Vegas and forced to sell my body. I endured violence, was beaten, and nearly lost my life. The trauma trapped me in the adult industry, sending me into a dark and dangerous world that affected every part of my life. I lost my moral compass, pride, and respect for myself, and my choices as a runaway led to prison and lost opportunities. I never graduated or had a college education, and the pain of my past has been overwhelming. I also lost a close friend to suicide at the Luxor Las Vegas in 1996. She was pimped, forced into sex work, and contracted AIDS. Her story, and mine, are reminders of how dangerous and destructive this world can be. There is no winning, and fast money is a trap that leads to a dead end. I want to help make sure others have a fresh start and a way to heal and get out of it. With your support, I will start a business and advocacy organization dedicated to helping survivors escape trafficking, heal, and rebuild their lives. The funds will be used for resources and to find an office, so I can offer hope and guidance to those who need it most.
