If you know Brad Rosen, you know he’s pretty terrible at asking for help. He is my person - so I will ask for him. Brad is a hard worker, who makes his living as a contractor. He is also a musician, a published author and a songwriter. One of his greatest qualities is the kindness and support he shows his friends and family. Right now, he needs a loving hand from some of you. After years of assuming his neck and arm pain came from hard work, we learned that Brad is facing something far more serious. His right arm literally stopped working while he was drumming at two different shows this summer. Testing revealed a severe spinal cord injury in his neck, along with an extreme case of carpal tunnel that has caused the padded muscle under his thumb to disappear. In August, Brad’s surgeon told him he had to stop working. Brad needs 2 surgeries, the most serious being a 4-level cervical operation to hopefully relieve some of the compression, flattening and atrophy of his spinal cord. Although much damage has been done, we hope the surgery will help Brad return to the things he loves. Brad‘s work came to a halt in August and his spinal cord surgery isn’t happening until December 4th (!) the earliest date available. His recovery period will be quite long, he is expected to spend six weeks in a cervical collar, followed by three months of healing and therapy. This is an extended time with no income and Brad is massively freaked out. Like many, living paycheck to paycheck with a little padding tucked away can be stressful. Now that cushion is gone and real anxiety is setting in. The goal of the fundraiser is this: to help Brad cover basic living costs and bills while he cannot work. And to relieve some of the debilitating stress that comes along with all of this so he can heal and recover. If you’re able to contribute, it would make a real difference and be deeply appreciated! And if donating isn’t possible, sharing this fundraiser would mean just as much. Thank you for supporting Brad in these many difficult months ahead. And helping him get back to his “B-Rad” self!
