To remember those who fought and lost their lives for our country, I will be running 4.2 miles every hour, on the hour, for 24 hours, starting at 0800 Friday, 22 May. With this, I will be raising money for The Navy SEAL Foundation (NSF). NSF provides critical support for warriors, veterans, and families of Naval Special Warfare aligning their pillars of support around community, health, education, and legacy. If you would like to learn more about NSF or support, please see the link below. I appreciate any and all support in advance. If you are in the San Diego area I encourage you to bring a friend and join me for any amount of miles. I will have a table set up with a sign at the Catamaran Resort (on the bay side) in Mission Bay and will be starting every loop at the top of every hour. Below is the link to the route I will be running. Run Route: https://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/6711830886/ The Navy SEAL Foundation: https://www.navysealfoundation.org
Having a purpose in life and setting goals for yourself to achieve is an important aspect of maintaining a healthy mindset and mental health. Fostering a lifestyle of community involvement, physical fitness, and the opportunity to serve are three factors that play a key role in my life to help me maintain a strong mental health as well as sense of belonging and purpose. Fortunately enough, Team RWB, an organization founded by and made specifically for military service members and veterans and their families, follows a similar moral compass to assist those who have served with helping them find their purpose and meaning once again through community involvement and physical fitness. I am a big preponderant of pushing your mental and physical limits. This summer I have decided to take it one step further and will be running the length of my home state of Vermont. I will start on the southern border of VT and MA and run 195 miles North until I reach the Canadian border. I will be doing this project as a part of ‘Team RWB’ to raise awareness and money for mental health as well as to enrich the lives for those who served and their families. For more information about ‘Team RWB’ please click https://teamrwb.org/ to learn more. I thank you all in advance for any support and donations made. Details on project information can be found below. For those in the area or wanting to tag along for any distance a route map will be provided as well.
