He NEVER complains and almost ALWAYS has a smile on his face, but talk to Diego for any length of time and it is clear that he deeply loves and very much misses his wife and daughter. He lives and works legally in the US, and sends money back to them in Colombia so they can have a better life. He is a stronger person than me. Support for Kate's Family in Tragic Loss

Our dear friend, wife, sister, mother, daughter, and inspiration was taken abruptly from us when she suffered a tragic horse accident, which resulted in a fatal brain injury on the afternoon of Saturday, October 24th.  <br /><br />Jessica leaves behind her brand new baby Wolfe Lee Bender, and husband of 9 years, Tom Bender.  These badly needed funds will help cover the costs of the life flight, Jessica's treatment/surgery, and help build a fund to defray costs for childcare and the future of this dear baby Wolfe.<br /><br />Tom has not requested this fund, but we know that any donation and/or sharing this fundraiser is one of the best ways we can show our love and support for this incredible woman and her heartbroken family right now.<br /><br />Jessica Bender was a light to countless lives and will never be forgotten. Soft-spoken and full of beautiful spirit in every positive way, Jessica knew how to live with purpose. Jessica always sought out those in need with love, respect, and empathy towards everyone she met.  She had adventure in her DNA, whether she was summiting one of Utah's many peaks, exploring a red rock canyon, or riding a favorite horse trail.<br /><br />She was an exceptionally talented designer. Her studio Box Street Design, located in Salt Lake City, was thriving and full of promise. Her lifelong dedication to her art inspires us all to be our best selves every day.<br /><br />Jessica met and married her best friend, Tom Bender in 2011, and together they embraced the spirit of entrepreneurship, each in their own successful endeavors.  As a result, both are self-employed and are not part of a larger healthcare plan, another reason your support is so critical.<br /><br />One of Jessica and Tom's deepest desires was to start a family. A tribute to Jess and some love for Wolfe

On September 22, in the small city of Tarija, Bolivia, seven-year-old Luis Sossa Vasquez was hit by a runaway car in front of his house and is now in critical condition in a local hospital. He has survived the accident thus far, but it at risk of losing his legs. <br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/42440968_1570031605481644_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" alt="42440968_1570031605481644_r.jpeg" /><br /><br />Luis and his dad were walking back to their home, when Luis ran ahead, about 20 feet ahead, to get to their front door first. Right as Luis got to the front of the house, a car, which an older gentleman thought he had put in park, rolled down the hill on their street and slammed into Luis and his home. The car broke town the front of their mud-brick (adobe) home and trapped Luis between the car and the rubble. Neighbors rushed to help, but it took 30 minutes to free Luis from the rubble. <br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/42440968_1570031145940726_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" alt="42440968_1570031145940726_r.jpeg" /><br />At the local hospital, San Juan de Dios, doctors have been trying to repair Luis' legs and treat damage done to his intestines. His legs and pelvis were severely damaged in the accident. <br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/42440968_157003189921518_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" alt="42440968_157003189921518_r.jpeg" /><br /><br />Luis lives with his single father in Tarija, Bolivia, a small city in the south of the country. They have very little, and no way to get Luis the medical care he so desperately needs. I lived in Bolivia for two years from 1997-1999 and fell in love with the country and people. I lived with Luis' father's family members while I was there and go back every few years to visit them. They are an extraordinary family that live humbly, but are incredibly tight-knit. Bolivia is the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, after Haiti, but has some of the most generous, kind, and loving people I've ever met.

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to a wonderful husband, father, and grandpa. Wayne was a man that loved the outdoors, and fishing in particular, almost as much as he loved his wife of 48 years, his 6 children, and 16 grandchildren with two on the way. He was always up for giving his grandkids a lawnmower ride around the yard or taking them on a tour of his berry patch. He had a magnetic personality and was loved by all who knew him. He could rattle off a sage piece of advice or a colorful cowboy expression that was sure to put a smile on anyone’s face. While we can’t begin to understand the mental and emotional weight he was carrying, we do know he loved his family immensely. We will miss Wayne more than we can express with words and know we will be with him again as an eternal family.<br /><br />There will be a memorial service in Washington, a funeral in Mesa, and burial service in St. Johns. Dates and times to follow.<br /><br />In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations to help assist with funeral expenses.

Jenny Hill, is a 31 year old Utah mother, wife, sister, friend and preschool teacher. In April 2014, Jenny found a lump in her left breast and she immediately took action and pushed her doctor to give her a mammogram. They believed it was unnecessary after an ultrasound that led them to believe the mass was a sugar deposit and didn't show any signs of cancer. She felt very strongly that something more was wrong and after her mammogram, she pushed the specialist for a biopsy. When the biopsy results came back we were all told the one thing we hadn't expected. In May 2014, Jenny was diagnosed with Stage 3C Metastatic Melanoma cancer. She had surgery to remove 14 lymph nodes from her armpit where the tumor was found. Her long battle of Interferon treatments began June 16, 2014. <br /> <br />Fast-forward a year and treatments are complete but continued scans, medications and doctor visit costs pile on every month.<br /><div><br />She has had such a strong support group to fight this battle. She has shown how strong and resilient she is and will continue to inspire all those around her and those who will only see her journey through social media. You can lend a hand by donating here.
