Faith, Family, Friends and Fitness. 1 Corinthians 16:13-14

Standing With Dan DeVowe — A Family in Need of Prayer and Support Scripture reminds us that “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1). Right now, Dan DeVowe (51) and his family are leaning on that promise—and on the compassion of their community. Dan is a devoted husband to Sherry and a loving father to five sons (ages 21, 17, 15, 12, 10) and one daughter (age 9). His deepest desire is to remain present, faithful, and strong for the family God has entrusted to him. Dan’s Health Journey Dan has carried the burden of Legg-Calvé-Perthes disease since childhood, enduring chronic pain and mobility challenges for much of his life. In recent years, his health has taken a serious turn: Blocked left kidney (February 2023) Stage 4 liver disease connected to a hereditary condition known as NASH Kidney reconstruction surgery (April 2024) Ongoing decline in kidney and liver function The need for two hip replacements and a knee replacement once his body is strong enough Dan’s medical team has encouraged him to pursue disability so he can focus fully on healing and preparing for future surgeries. Why This Family Needs Help As Dan’s health has declined, his ability to work has been severely limited. The resulting financial strain has become overwhelming. The family is currently facing: Foreclosure on their home Possible repossession of vehicles Mounting medical bills and everyday living expenses This is a heavy burden for any family—but especially one with six children depending on them. Our Prayerful Goal We are trusting God and the generosity of His people as we seek to raise $8,000 to help this family meet immediate needs, including: Housing and transportation Basic living expenses Medical and recovery-related costs This support will give Dan and Sherry the space they need to focus on health, faith, and family—without the constant fear of losing their home. How You Can Come Alongside Them If you are able, please consider giving—no amount is too small. If you’re unable to give financially, sharing this page and lifting this family up in prayer is just as meaningful. “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2). With Deep Gratitude Thank you for reading, praying, and standing with Dan, Sherry, and their children during this difficult season. Your generosity and prayers are a reflection of God’s love at work through His people. With heartfelt thanks, Friends and Family of Dan DeVowe
