My name is Richard-Lael, and I am reaching out for support as I work toward a new chapter in my life. Since I was an infant of two years of age, owning and lovingly restoring a Victorian house has been my dream. At age four, when my father had polio, my brother and I went to stay with our grandmother. My brother brought toy cars, and I brought Victorian dollhouse furniture—no dolls, just the furniture, where I could imagine lives being lived and lost. My grandmother sent us to the veranda to play, but my brother and I were quiet, too quiet. She stood behind my brother and watched him play with little cars as he made humming sounds and enjoyed quiet explosions. When my grandmother approached me, she paused as though her eyes could not be telling her the truth, that somehow sight had deceived her. 'What are you playing with, Ricky?' she asked almost rhetorically. (She always called people by abbreviations of names that they didn’t really care for.) When I informed her that it was Victorian dollhouse furniture that I had brought, she went silent, slightly aghast, then slowly responded, 'Mmmmm kay... I thought you would have brought cars, like your brother.' 'No,' said I, 'just furniture, it makes me happy.' After years of rising rent and uncertainty, I have finally found a home in a different state where the mortgage, taxes, and insurance are actually less than what I currently pay for rent. This opportunity means more than just a roof over my head—it represents stability, hope, and a chance to build something truly special. The house is an 1865 build, full of history and character. It already has two tenants in the upper floors, which will help provide extra income and make my living situation more secure. With your support, I will be able to put down a deposit and move forward with purchasing this home. This isn’t just about finding a place to live; it’s about creating a space where I can thrive and share my passions with others. For privacy of the current tenants, the main photo is not of the house itself. The interior photos you see are examples of my work and passion for Victorian interior design, showing the care and creativity I hope to bring to my future home. My dream is to restore the house and transform it into a place for paranormal investigations, a tarot and seance parlor, and a welcoming home for myself and guests. I want people to love the thrills and chills, and to feel inspired by the journey. Your help will make all the difference, and I am deeply grateful for any support you can offer to help me make this dream a reality. total goal is $30,000.00, but the site suggests i start with increments starting at $6,500
