This morning my daughter &amp; her boyfriend experienced the worst event anyone could ever imagine. Their precious little 9 week old baby boy was carried away by angels to the arms of Jesus. While we cannot possibly understand or fathom why, we do believe that by the grace &amp; love of our Father we will be with him again. The pain is immeasurable. The loss is devastating. My daughter, Christi, &amp; her boyfriend, Erian also have 2 other children. Draya (3) &amp; Evian (1). They have had to witness today the ultimate heartbreak of their parents. Erian has recently been out of work due to a recent rollover car accident due to a drunk driver &amp; was preparing to go back to work soon. Right now, everyone’s lives are on hold as we have no idea how to process or move forward at this moment. The enormity of this is overwhelming. Funeral Expenses for Kyree Banks Ken-Harding

On March 28th, 2020, at the onset of the COVID19  pandemic, the Town of Moncks Corner mandated that Santee Cooper (electric company) disconnect the Coach House electricity supply - citing that the building structure had never been inspected and thus did not have an official certificate of occupancy. At the time of shut-off, there were ten residents at the Coach House,  utilizing the transitional housing, daily education and counseling services. The Coach House which promotes awareness through human services (P.A.T.H.S) has been quietly serving members of the Lowcountry community since 2006, by providing the underserved with access to vital human services such as transitional housing, social services assistance and guidance [SNAP, WIC, Medicaid, Lifeline phone service], mental health and substance abuse counseling, emergency clothing, shelter, and workforce development training. The Coach House also provides mail pick-up service for homeless individuals.  However, despite providing these services for many years, The Coach House has been struggling to fully meet City standards as required by the Town of Moncks Corner.  The City requires extensive work be completed by licensed commercial contractors, electricians, plumbers, and engineers.  Although community volunteers were assisting with vital repairs, the City issued a Stop Work Order on September 29th, 2020, which halted all progress. The Coach House is now in its **seventh month** without power and available resources, with fewer residents still residing. This is severely impacting the livelihood of the residents and other individuals in need of services, specifically in this season. As the winter approaches, members of our community cannot be  abandoned or left to face homelessness in their time of need.  I have started this fundraiser, on behalf of P.A.T.H.S to publicize the needs of The Coach House and appeal to our networks far and wide for help.  Assistance and funds are urgently needed in order to expedite work on the Coach House.Monetary donations will allow the most flexibility for work to continue. Powerless In A Pandemic: Help The Coach House Rise

On the morning of January 12, 2020 our son Dominick Stephens was murdered in Minot ND. His sudden tragic death has left his two beautiful daughters Sanai age 2 and Kalise age 1 with no father at the start of their lives. Unfortunately he did not have life insurance so we are raising funds to support his daughters as they no longer have my son Dominick to be their protector and provider.

In November, Ashley and I received heart breaking news that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. She is a loving wife and mother of 2, and is pregnant with our first baby boy. Being a high risk pregnancy, with the due date set for early February of 2020, the doctors wanted to act aggressively by planning for a mastectomy operation. This is her second operation. We are praying this will be her last and that chemo is the final stage after the baby is born. The goal is to get her as healthy as possible and to show her we all support her as she fights this battle. Anything and everything is appreciated. Love is love, thank you!

Ashley's Breast Cancer Fight

Our beloved 25 year employee from our Nordstrom Montgomery Kids department, Mercy Merrick has passed away today in her home surrounded by her family.  Mercy fought a hard battle with cancer (and those that know her know what a fighter she is).  She is at peace now, but the family needs our support.  Mercy's daughter, Maylin is also a treasured 17 year employee in our Service Experience department. At this time, we would love to support Mercy's family in any way that we can.  Any amount that you can give would be greatly appreciated as we try to help the family through this difficult time.  Mercy was a 16 year pacesetter and all star with our store.  She was feisty and passionate and had many customers that came to our store just to see her.  She was the rock star of our Kids Wear Boys department and has touched so many lives by dressing children for their important life events.  She was also a mentor to so many in the store and her presence will be missed.  Her service and commitment to our store and community is legendary. Our thoughts are with Mercy's family and our hope is that her extended Nordstrom family can come together and help.

Mercy Merrick Memorial

I am Skylar&#8217;s mom and I will be&#160;a cancer survivor. 


I would not truly know triumph until I became pregnant with Skylar. She is my miracle baby and she is my greatest accomplishment! I firmly believe everything happens for a reason and the universe is responsive to our needs. Skylar was sent to me from God and God knew what was in store for me. In spite of my past struggles and a complicated childbirth, I did not back down. In spite of the devil trying to break me, I did not back down. I persevered to bring my beautiful baby girl into this world, healthy and safe. Though she was a preemie, she is healthy now and that's all that matters to me. 


God blessed me with Skylar before the storm came. 


I believe this disease was in my body while I was pregnant. &#160;Most would have considered me strong before Skylar came along, but she makes me even stronger now. &#160;She gives me a reason to continue to fight and be better. &#160;Not for myself, I do it for her. Skylar makes me want to live! 


I have had my share of heartbreak, failures, and disappointments, and had it not been for Skylar, I cannot say I would have had the will to fight. With motivation through Skylar, I feel I now know the art of surviving. 


Cancer is just another storm in life that I will weather and that I will say I survived! 


Through setbacks, I persevered&#160;and stayed true to myself! &#160;I have established an amazing support system and I can never say I accomplished this on my own. So many have helped me. I may not be where I thought I would be in life, but I know things could have been much worse. That knowledge in itself is a big accomplishment! 


You beat cancer by how you live, why you live and in the manner in which you live. 


I started <a href="https://grimadventuresofscally.com/">my&#160;blog</a> &#160;to use art and self-expression to encourage&#160;others. I feel it is the best way I can help. I want people to read my stories, accompany me on my journey, and understand life processes from my point of view, a cancer patient&#8217;s point of view. No matter what obstacles we encounter, we should remain true to ourselves and not let these challenges break us. We must continue to live no matter what!

The body may be temporary, but mine is not finished on this Earth yet. 


I am ready to&#160;prosper and thrive. &#160;I am currently undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). &#160;It is the transplantation of multipotent hematopoietic stem cells, usually from bone marrow. HSCT&#160;remains a dangerous procedure with many possible complications and it is reserved for patients with life-threatening diseases. &#160;
