- For years, Red Dog Books has been more than just a nonprofit. We are a lifeline. We are books in the hands of children who can’t afford them. We are care packages in the arms of those who feel forgotten. We are job-skills training, new opportunities, and second chances. And this year alone, we have donated 120,000 books to churches, schools, libraries, teachers, and nonprofits across Indianapolis. But now... we are reaching a tipping point. We have moved several times in the past year. Our final lease is ending. We have no more wiggle room. The uncertainty is weighing heavily. If we don’t secure a permanent building, we will spend every hour scrambling for space instead of serving our community. So today, we’re laying it all out—and asking for your help. Your donation will go toward: 1. Purchasing a building so Red Dog Books can finally have a stable home 2. Moving costs, renovations, utilities, and storage 3. Scholarships and micro-grants for students and community members who want to improve their lives 4. Continued outreach—books, hygiene kits, care packages, blessing bags 5. Animal shelter support—beds, blankets, enrichment supplies, and essentials for homeless animals And most importantly: once we have a secure base, we will create a grant program to help at least one person move off the streets and into a safe home. Why this matters right now Without a permanent headquarters, we are always at risk of being displaced again—losing inventory, relationships, momentum People in crisis don’t wait. The families and individuals we serve have urgent needs—hygiene, food, dignity Our volunteers—many facing their own challenges—deserve a place to build skills and find purpose What we’ve already done Over 120,000 books donated in the past year Distributed blessing bags and care packages filled with essentials like toothpaste, deodorant, wipes, pads, clean socks, blankets, and more Donated items to animal shelters: dog beds, leashes, blankets, and enrichment supplies During our back-to-school event: 50+ school supply bags, 30 blessing bags, over 170 hotdogs + water + chips given to families We run job skills training, personal mentorship, and programs where volunteers can grow, contribute, and feel valued What we need from you No gift is too small. $5, $20, $100—all of it counts. But we need to reach a goal big enough to lock in security for our mission. Please consider donating today—and sharing our campaign with your family, friends, churches, and coworkers. We ask you: Be the difference. Help us build a home so we can finally stop surviving—and start thriving in service of others. With gratitude and faith, The Red Dog Books Team

- WE NEED YOUR HELP! Hey friends! It truly pains us to make this post, but we’ve hit a very tough spot. Our sales have been devastatingly low only a few customers per day — we fear monthly we will not cover our rent, not to mention electricity, water, or other basic costs. If things don’t pick up soon, we may be forced to close our doors very, very soon. We’re not giving up yet — we believe in this community, and we know so many of you do too. This has been the most exhausting, emotional, and expensive 7 months of our lives. After spending 70k We now don't even have an emergency fund. We love this store. We love what it’s becoming and being able to give back to the community. And we can’t do it without you. Red Dog Books is a Nonprofit located in Indianapolis. This year alone we have donated 120k books to churches, schools, libraries, teachers, and other nonprofit facilities. We love being able to distribute literacy to those in need. So much so that we have decided to expand our outreach. Our outreach includes charity work donating and distributing books, hygiene products, and other things needed to the less fortunate; families and individuals. Care packages and Blessing bags are fulfilled by volunteers learning job skills in the workforce. We as well take donations for items for the humane society in support of their hard work in sheltering and taking care of homeless and abandoned animals. This list is just an idea of items we take. We are open to taking more than just these items, including gift cards and cash donations. You do not have to order and deliver from this app. We accept drop offs, and deliveries, during store hours to our physical location. When you shop with us, you're doing so much more than buying a book or a movie — you're directly supporting a mission that gives back to the community. ✅ Job Training Opportunities We offer hands-on experience and job training for people rebuilding their lives, looking for a fresh start, or gaining work skills. Affordable Books for Everyone We believe everyone deserves access to knowledge and joy — that’s why our prices are lower than Goodwill and major chains. We Give Back Whether it's through donated books, free boxes to teachers, or pop-up literacy events, food drives, supply drives, giving away care packages, we constantly reinvest in the people around us. Community Events & Safe Space We host local events, support local creators, and strive to make our store a welcoming, safe place for all. This is your bookstore. Donations to Animal Shelters: We donate to several animal shelters around Indianapolis in efforts to help them find homes for abandoned or lost animals For years, Red Dog Books has been more than just a nonprofit.
