What they care about

My name is Rebecca, and I’m from San Francisco. I work part‑time as a caregiver and I’m passionate about helping people create better lives for themselves.

My name is Rebecca. I'm 35 years old and I'm from San Francisco, CA. I’ve finally found the career that feels like my true purpose: clinical hypnotherapy. After years of searching for a path that genuinely aligns with who I am, I was found this amazing, accredited institute and was accepted into the Hypnosis Motivation Institute (HMI) — a moment that felt like everything in my life finally clicked into place. I am scheduled to start classes on September 8, 2026, and I have a financial aid appointment this Monday to finalize my enrollment. But I’m facing a major obstacle that I cannot overcome alone. I currently have defaulted federal student loans totaling $2,711.67. Because of this default, I have been unable to reapply for new student aid, which I need in order to cover HMI’s tuition of $17,000 per year. The rehabilitation process takes nine months, which means I cannot complete it in time for my start date. The only way to move forward quickly enough is to pay off the defaulted amount in full. I work part-time as a caregiver through In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS). I love the work I do — supporting people who need help in their daily lives — but with my limited income, I simply cannot clear this default before Monday’s appointment. I’ve tried every option available, and now I’m turning to my community for help. Hypnotherapy isn’t just a career choice for me. It’s the work I want to dedicate my life to — helping people heal, grow, and transform. This school is the opportunity I’ve been waiting for, and I’m ready to give it everything I have. If you’re able to help me pay off my defaulted loans so I can reapply for student aid and begin my training at HMI, it would mean more than I can express. Even the smallest contribution brings me one step closer to the future I’ve worked so hard to find. Thank you for reading, thank you for caring, and thank you for helping me fight for the chance to finally step into the career I was meant for.
