My heart is broken as I write this. I lost my brother James Charles Blackinton, someone who meant so much to me, to his family, and to everyone who truly knew him. He was a quiet but powerful presence in our lives. A loving, caring man who didn’t need attention to make an impact. He showed his love through his actions—always willing to help, always giving what he could, even when it left him with less. That’s just who he was.

 His daughters, Cheyenne and Ciara, were his world. The love he had for them was deep and constant, and that love extends to his son-in-law Dylan and his three grandchildren, who brought him so much pride and joy. Right now, our family is trying to navigate an unimaginable loss while also making sure we can give him the burial he deserves. I wanted to come alongside my nieces in asking for help—not to take anything away from them, but to support them during a time no family is ever prepared for.

 We are raising funds to help cover funeral and burial expenses, and to ease some of the burden on Cheyenne and Ciara as they move forward without their dad. If you’re able to give, thank you. <div>On September 10th, we celebrated Amilia turning 3 months old. Just one day later, our world was turned upside down when she began having seizures. Doctors are still searching for answers, and what we do know is that this will be a long, uncertain journey for our baby girl.

<div>We are doing everything we can to care for her and stay strong as a family. The road ahead will include many medical appointments, treatments, and challenges. <div>Today, I find myself reaching out for support during a profoundly difficult time. According to the doctors and nurses, my beloved Dad has approximately 3 to 4 months left to live. As I prepare for this heart-wrenching journey, I want to ensure that everything is in place for him when the time comes.

For My Dad!

<font color="#333333"><span>It’s been a really hard month. Addie was in the hospital after several weeks of agitation that never improved. She got a new diagnosis of dysautonomia and it turned our world upside down after learning it has the ability to shorten her lifespan. While Addie has several diagnoses (epilepsy, hydrocephalus, respiratory failure, and more) it seemed even harder to accept a new diagnosis. <br /><br />After a few days home, our wheelchair van broke AGAIN. We had it in the shop for 2 months in the Fall and before then it had broken down a few times. It was a sweet gift from a friend, but because it’s an older van (2003) with lots of mileage from the previous owner, it’s on its last legs.<br /><br />Addie NEEDS reliable transportation and unfortunately, used, older accessible vans that’s we’ve been able to have, haven’t been reliable at all. We know Addie needs a new van that is reliable- that can get her to doctor appointments locally and out of town, therapy appointments, and even just for every day life. She loves getting out and about and we always encourage her to live life to the fullest- especially when we don’t know how many years God has planned for her life. No one should be forced to be homebound- and that’s what happens when we don’t have a working wheelchair van.<br /><br />Addie has gone through SO much in her life and deserves the entire world. This is so much to ask but with medical bills and our current van breaking down so often, it’s impossible to save for a brand new accessible van for her. They’re incredibly expensive, but she deserves reliability and the ability to live life and go out like everyone else. Please help us with this crazy huge goal, and if you can’t, please pray about it with us. We know all things are possible with God, and we are confident that things will work out somehow for her.</span></font>

Help Addie Get A New Wheelchair Accessible Van

For those of you that do not know Coach Ricardo "Richy" Pelaez, he is a man that has made an incredible impact on so many lives in the South Florida Soccer Community. He has gone above and beyond for so many kids. He is a mentor to many of us, and a role model. He is like a father or brother to those of us that are lucky enough to know him. <br /><br />He is so selfless, that for the first 3 weeks, he didn't want to go public about it. He didn't want to ask anyone for help publicly, but now it has reached a point, where he has no choice. <br /><br />On June 27th Richy traveled to Chicago for a soccer tournament. When he landed, required emergency surgery for a ruptured ulcer on his intestines. During recovery he underwent a simple procedure  and unfortunately an artery was ruptured. Between both incidents and not having a good liver to begin with he is now in critical condition in ICU and needs a new liver to survive. <br /><br />On July 23rd Richy was officially listed on the liver transplant list in Chicago and  can receive a liver from 5 surrounding states. He is A positive which is very favorable for a transplant. From what the doctors are telling us he is going to have to stay in Chicago for at least the next three months. <br /><br />His cousin has volunteered to stay and care for him. Once Richy is discharged he will be required to visit the doctor twice a week in Chicago. In order to make this go as smooth as possible for Richy, an apartment will have to be rented nearby the hospital where the appointments will be taking place. Costs for all of this are going to be very expensive. <br /><br />This man has given so much to so many kids, a lot of which are now men, for the past 3 decades, and has never asked for anything in return. It is time for us to do the best we can for this amazing, selfless, and beautiful human being.<br /><br />PLEASE anything that you are able to donate is appreciated!!!!<br /><br />Lori Pelaez, his wife, will be the one handling all the money raised, and making sure things run as smoothly as possible for Richy to overcome this and come back home.
