I'm raising funds for my 13-year-old son, Mose, and for the legal and expert costs involved in fighting for ADHD medical decision-making so he can have a real chance at getting the care he needs. Mose was diagnosed with ADHD in 2021. I share custody of him 50% of the time with my ex-wife, and this has turned into a long court battle over whether he can receive ADHD medication.

 I first went to Kaiser in 2022 to get Mose a therapist because I was deeply concerned about his low self-esteem. Kaiser told me they would recommend treating his ADHD with medication before getting him a therapist. Because his mother opposed medication, I was told both parents would need to agree unless I had a different custody arrangement. I went to court to try to change custody and get medical authority for this issue, but the court said it was too soon to decide. I was told to return if Mose's grades did not improve, if his self-esteem stayed the same or got worse, or if he was not meeting his IEP goals.

 All of that happened. I returned to court in 2024, but because I represented myself and filed the wrong paperwork, the case was thrown out. Last year, Mose's self-esteem became so serious that he was suicidal. Now, in 2026, I am working with a lawyer to continue this case because I cannot let this keep slipping through the cracks while my son struggles.

 Throughout all of this, I have been the parent consistently paying for Mose's therapy and providing a tutor for him. I have also consistently supported him at school and socially with an eye toward helping him develop his capabilities. Co-parenting around his care has been difficult and stressful, with conflict in court and ongoing disagreements about treatment. I do not want to attack Mose's mother, but I do want to be honest that this has made it much harder to give him clear, consistent support.

 Day to day, Mose is facing the impacts of ADHD in ways that are affecting both school and social life. He is about three years behind his peers academically and socially. He is in 8th grade, and instead of having the tools to manage what he is dealing with, he has started hiding his difficulties or lying about what is happening and what he can do. Mose wishes to use the medication, and I want him to have the opportunity to possibly overcome his ADHD and experience what that may be like without being hampered by the symptoms of ADHD.

A Fair Chance for Mose's ADHD Care

<div>The world recently lost one of its most brilliant souls, Jerry Rocha. Jerry passed away on June 3, 2026 after a 5 year battle with stage 4 Colorectal cancer. Jerry waged an epic battle deserving of recognition in the halls of Valhalla or worthy of recognition in the archives of the Jedi Order. The tales of his bravery in the face of an unrelenting enemy will echo through Hyrule, across The Great Sea and live in The Lorule Kingdom for eternity. If you got any of those nerdy references then you truly loved Jerry and the light he brought to this sometimes dark world.

<div> On June 3rd I not only lost my best friend and brother, but more importantly Andrea Lassen lost the love of her life. Andrea over the last 5 years has been Jerry’s real life Guardian Angel. Extending his life countless times by making him go to the doctor instead of brushing off a blocked colon as gas or a blood clot in his neck as a pulled muscle. Without Andrea’s love and care we wouldn’t have had Jerry for as long as we did. Now it’s time to return that favor. Andrea this past January had to leave her job to become a full-time caregiver after Jerry’s health took a turn. With these last 4 months of lost wages, mounting medical bills and after death costs Andrea could really use some Guardian Angels herself.

I know times are tough and everything costs more, but if you can spare anything it would mean the world to me and help Andrea in this time of need. Help Andrea After Jerry’s Passing

On Friday morning at around 6:50am, my entire apartment building caught fire, leaving me and my family suddenly displaced. The building became uninhabitable, and we lost the majority of our belongings—not just to the fire itself, but also to water damage from the fire department’s efforts. We were still reeling from the shock when, the following night, looters broke in after the building was boarded up. They took whatever valuable belongings remained, including family photos, my laptop, shoes, clothes, and so much more. Just last night, our family dog passed away, adding another layer of heartbreak to an already overwhelming situation.

 The funds raised here will go directly toward helping us secure temporary housing, buy food, replace clothes, and recover some of the important items that were burned or stolen. We’re trying to rebuild our lives from scratch, and every bit of support will help us get back on our feet. I never thought I’d be in a position to ask for help, especially knowing how tough things are for everyone right now. I turned down offers of help at first, thinking I could handle it, but after the fire, the looting, and losing our dog, it’s become too much for me to bear alone—both mentally and financially.
