Stand With Nepal: Support Families Affected by the Devastating Flash Flood Appeal by Non-Resident Nepali Association UK (NRNA UK) Nepal is facing a devastating humanitarian emergency following a sudden and catastrophic flash flood that struck northern Nepal on Wednesday, 26 August 2026. The disaster began along the Bhote Koshi River in Rasuwa district, near the Nepal–China border, causing widespread destruction in areas including Timure, Rasuwagadhi and Syabrubesi. Homes, businesses, roads, bridges, power infrastructure and other essential facilities have been severely damaged, while many people have been reported missing. The floodwaters have also moved downstream, putting communities along the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli river systems at serious risk. Rescue and relief operations are currently underway, with the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police and other agencies mobilised to search for those missing, evacuate vulnerable communities and provide emergency assistance. The full extent of the human and material losses is still being assessed. We urgently need your help The Non-Resident Nepali Association UK (NRNA UK) is launching this emergency fundraising appeal to support families and communities affected by this devastating disaster. Every donation, regardless of its size, can make a meaningful difference. For families who have lost their homes, livelihoods and belongings within a matter of hours, the support of the Nepali community and friends of Nepal around the world can provide hope at a time of unimaginable hardship. The Nepali diaspora has always demonstrated remarkable solidarity in times of crisis. Today, our brothers, sisters, parents, relatives and fellow citizens in northern Nepal need our support. Please donate what you can and share this appeal with your family, friends, colleagues and wider networks. Together, we can help affected families survive this emergency and begin the long journey towards recovery and rebuilding. Please donate today. https://gofund.me/91d04ece4 Please share this appeal. Help Bring Late Sushil Poudel Home to Nepal It is with deep sadness that we appeal for your support to help repatriate the body of Late Mr. Sushil Poudel from Paudur village, Annapurna-03, Kaski District, Nepal, who recently passed away in London at The Danish YMCA at the young age of 25. The case is currently under investigation with the Coroner’s Office. Sushil had already lost his father three years ago and was the sole support for his widowed mother in Nepal. Today, the family is facing unbearable grief along with the financial burden of bringing him home for his final rites according to our traditions and culture. On behalf of the grieving family and the Nepalese community in the UK, we humbly request your kind support during this difficult time. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help us bring Sushil back to Nepal and support his final journey home. Your prayers, generosity, and sharing of this appeal are deeply appreciated. Kind regards, Rajendra Pudasaini President, NRNA UK
