Rachell is creating this fundraiser for her daughter’s godfather, Guy, after a devastating motorcycle accident in Haiti left him severely injured and unable to work. One month ago, he was riding his motor cycle back home after picking up food for his daughter when he was struck by a larger vehicle and was left unconscious. The driver fled the scene, leaving Guy badly hurt in the street. Thankfully a good Samaritan was able to keep him safe until being transported to the nearest hospital. He suffered multiple serious injuries, including an open fracture to his left leg, fractures below the knee, and broken fingers on his left hand. He also lost a dangerous amount of blood and had to undergo emergency surgery just to stabilize his leg. He is currently living with an external fixator holding the bones in place, and his recovery is far from over. Doctors have said Guy will need another major surgery to permanently repair his leg. The hospital in Haiti is facing severe shortages, so he has to pay for all medical supplies such as gauze and bandages, as well as medications. He also has to cover expenses related to his medical treatment, including surgeries and other hospital expenses. Lastly, he is not able to work, and this fundraiser would support his basic living expenses and transportation to appointments. More than anything, Guy wants to heal so he can walk again, return to work, and continue being there for his daughter. Rachell is asking for help so Guy has the chance to recover from this life-changing accident in Haiti. Any donation or share will make a real difference for him and his recovery.
