Thank you for taking a moment to read my story! I am about a year and a half into pursuing higher education. Majoring in psychology with an art minor, I am hoping to someday start a career in art therapy. This career has similar goals to those of traditional talk therapy but places an emphasis on the role of creative expression in well-being. It is also a great form of therapy for those who are less comfortable (or have difficulties with) verbally expressing themselves (such as young children, trauma survivors, autistic individuals, etc.). I am working full-time in order to support my education and save up to go to graduate school. The money I earn goes directly towards my education. I am pushing so hard to reach this goal and have already faced burnout several times. Unexpectedly, my father cut off support which I was using to pay for monthly housing and food. We agreed I would become more independent as my time in college went on and agreed to discuss any changes to support beforehand. The sudden cut-off came as a surprise. My mother, who also works and contributes to earnings, is not in agreement with this cut-off. With their support, I was able to start saving a small amount of money for graduate school, but now that money is quickly draining as I've taken on the sudden responsibility of housing and food on top of tuition and book expenses. I have no car, and am not financially stable enough to take on any loans. I hate asking for it, but I really need help. Any money you donate will go directly towards my education. Anything not used on tuition for the remainder of my time pursuing my bachelor's degree will go directly into savings for graduate school. If you cannot donate, consider sharing. Anything helps. As a final note, I do not want this happening to any of my younger siblings.
