What Precious cares about

I'm the LA Artist and Human Rights Activist Precious Child. You may know me for my music and work in racial justice, queer rights, and for the unhoused.

FAAM Los Angeles is a group of volunteers dedicated to providing first aid and meals to unhoused individuals living on the streets of Los Angeles. Founded by people who couldn’t stand by while neighbors suffered, we travel weekly to sidewalks and encampments, offering food and medical care to those who often slip through the cracks of city programs. Our mission is simple: everyone deserves comfort, dignity, and a helping hand, no matter their circumstances. Last year, during dangerous heatwaves, we raised money for water, ice, and popsicles—not just to cool people off, but to offer a small treat to those who rarely get one. We distributed hundreds of gallons of frozen water and thousands of popsicles, making a real difference for people facing extreme conditions. Now, we’re working to improve the comfort and quality of our first aid outreach. We need seating for people while their injuries are treated, a pop-up tent for shade, and more wound care supplies like scissors, bandages, and ointments. Every dollar goes directly to the unhoused, as our group is entirely volunteer-run. We always need volunteers to help us provide face-to-face aid, and we’re searching for a space to work from instead of using members’ homes. What we need most right now is donations and financial support. Until now, we’ve funded everything ourselves, but we’re reaching out to the public to make our work more sustainable. Please join us in supporting LA’s unhoused community—your help truly makes a difference.

This was a fundraiser for a victim of a Pride event hate crime. A LGBTQ advocate was attacked by right wing protestors who viciously beat him and hospitalized him. The fundraiser helped them with recovery and stabilization costs.

Hi, I'm the LA band Precious Child and I'm handing out freezy pops to the unhoused. I'm giving out Freezy pops and water because there's a heat wave in Los Angeles with temperatures possibly reaching 110°. It's difficult for the unhoused to get out of this heat. In my opinion, they deserve food, shelter, water, and they also deserve niceties. So I dk what I can to fill the gaps. Every week, I give out food and supplies to the unhoused. When it's hit, I do popsicles. I always get the strongest reaction to the popsicles. People love them and are shocked to receive them. They aren't a lifesaving thing or "functional", but a moment of comfort and delight can mean a huge amount when you are struggling on the sidewalk day after day. I don't believe that people must make a lot of money or any money at all for society to give them a decent life. Isn't that the point of society? To make a life good for everyone? The heat wave is gonna last through Monday and so I'm raising money to cover the costs. Every dollar will go towards these Freezy pops and water and unfortunately, there's a lot of people who are unsheltered. My friends and I drive around the city for these distributions. We aim to serve the people on the ground, on the asphalt, on the concrete. I try to do this every heat wave in Los Angeles and your support has helped to make it happen. This is my third! A few bucks can go a long way with this and really brighten someone's day. Thank you for reading and please share and donate. Thank you.
