My name is Prince, and I am raising funds for myself to get permanent dental implants. This has been one of the hardest, saddest, and most heartbreaking experiences of my life. After a previous accident, I found out about a year ago that there was glass stuck in my gums. By the time it was discovered, the damage had become so severe that my only option was to have all of my teeth removed. Losing my teeth did not just change my appearance. It changed how I see myself and how I move through the world every single day. I have carried so much pain, shame, and grief since then. There are moments when I look in the mirror and barely recognize the person staring back at me. I miss the simple things I used to take for granted, like smiling without thinking, laughing freely, talking without feeling self-conscious, and being around people without fear or embarrassment. What happened to me has made me feel isolated in ways that are hard to explain, and there have been many days when I have felt deeply alone in this struggle.
Living with dentures has been a daily battle, both physically and emotionally. They hurt when I take them out, and even putting on the adhesive can be painful. Every day comes with discomfort, frustration, and the constant reminder of what I have lost. I have become afraid to smile, afraid to be seen without my dentures, and afraid of how others might look at me or judge me. It has affected my confidence, my relationships, and my mental health more than I can put into words. I have pulled away from people, hidden parts of myself, and struggled with sadness that follows me into so many parts of life. Something as natural as smiling or speaking comfortably has become a source of anxiety and heartbreak. I miss feeling normal. I miss feeling like myself. I miss the version of me that did not have to live with this kind of pain and emotional weight every day.
How your support helps: I am asking for help so I can get permanent dental implants and finally begin to heal from all of this. Implants would help relieve the daily pain and discomfort of dentures, but they would also mean so much more than that. They would give me hope, confidence, and the chance to feel whole again. They would help me stop hiding, reconnect with people, and smile without fear or shame. More than anything, they would help me move forward from this loss and regain a part of myself that feels like it has been gone for too long. If you are able to donate, please know that every contribution brings me one step closer to having my smile back. And if you cannot donate, sharing my fundraiser would mean so much to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my story and for any support you can give.
