<div>Hello! We're Hart and Bridget, creators of a new immersive theater company called Depth Accelerator. <strong>We're raising money to fund our upcoming immersive game: SOLIS.</strong>

<div>SOLIS is an 8-hour LARP for 22 players set in southern France, circa 1200. The drama commences when King Bonafós l'Esperat of Chandorée issues an urgent summons to all the nobles of the kingdom a week before an upcoming total solar eclipse.

<div>We've been writing this story since last November, after we were lucky enough to participate in <a href="https://www.maynwaring.com/fieldings-hollow" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Fielding's Hollow</a> , an incredible LARP written by our friend, Alice Maynwaring. Although we'd written LARPs before, Fielding's Hollow broke open the medium for us and expanded our notion of what was possible with immersive theater. Thereafter, we knew we wanted to write a LARP in a similar style: a limited cast of very deep characters, all with secret backstories and objectives.

<div>From the start of writing SOLIS, we idly daydreamed about running it at a real castle. A month or two ago, to our delight and mild trepidation, a string of synchronicities made that possibility imminent: <strong><em>we got invited to run SOLIS in a real castle south of Paris, at an event/festival called The Castle! </em></strong><em>(In pretty much the exact location we wrote the show for??)</em> <strong><em>Woohoo! </em></strong>

<div>Getting to Paris costs a lot of money, and we're running SOLIS for free at the event. Adding to our costs, we need to work full-time on the show to meet our deadline -- turning down other paying work and taking time away from our regular jobs. That's why we're asking for whatever help you can offer to cover our living expenses as we make the final push.

<div><em>You don your mask and open the door to a softly-lit room. It's buzzing with the first overtures of smalltalk. Two attractive bartenders shake drinks behind the counter. A haughty journalist takes notes on who's walking through the door... and, perhaps more importantly, who isn't. The party's emcee is glowing and confident -- but is that a hint of nervousness in her posture and foot-tapping? You don't see the host, eccentric pharma-tech billionaire Ian Adler. But surely he'll arrive any minute...</em>

<div>Thirst Trap is an open-world, immersive theater game that takes place across 7+ locations inside an infamous Brooklyn loft building on Halloween. It's a LARP in which players uncover layers of mystery by <strong>exploring</strong> a maze of settings and characters, <strong>attending</strong> original musical performances, and <strong>playing</strong> games of skill and chance.

I've started this fundraiser because my dear friend and colleague Shawanna Vaughn, Director of the non-profit Silent Cry, Inc. recently fell down at a community trauma intervention we were holding in Detroit and hit her head, suffering a concussion and mini-stroke in the process.

<div>Although Shawanna has insurance coverage through Medicare, unfortunately the incident occurred in Michigan and her New York Medicare insurance will only cover rehabilitative services in New York, but it is not physically safe for her to travel this soon after a stroke and so she needs money for therapy and accessibility equipment here in Michigan now.

<div>After almost a week in the hospital, she is back home but in need of funds for childcare expenses, food, and medical costs of treatment and recovery, including physical/occupational and speech therapy, as well as assistance with household tasks and care for her ten year old daughter.
