For three years I have been building Promoting Queens mostly on my own. No big grants. No major funding. Just a belief that chess could change a girl's life and the willingness to show up and prove it. We have reached over 1,500 girls across Nigeria and Kenya. And I am still going. But we have grown, and this mission needs more than just me. So this summer I am doing something new. I am taking chess to the streets of New York City. I will be setting up a board in parks across the city; from Washington Square Park all the way to Times Square and inviting anyone who walks by to sit down and play me. Come play a two-time Nigerian Women's Chess Champion. Donate what you feel. And know that every dollar goes directly to the girls we serve — keeping our programs running and reaching more girls in more countries. This is Queens in the Park. It starts in July. ♟️ Perpetual Ogbiyoyo Founder, Promoting Queens Does your employer match donations? Double your impact through your company’s matching gift program.

After starting chess at 19, I became a master in just two years. Chess changed my life, and this fundraiser helps girls build confidence, resilience, and life skills through the game
