<div>Hi, I’m Kate and I am fundraising on behalf of a charity called Volunteers Heart For Africa (VHFA), who would like to build a new school in Eastern Uganda and bring education to a small village that does not currently have a high school for local children to attend.

<div>Pastor Alfred Charles is CEO &amp; Founder of Volunteers Heart For Africa. I have known Alfred for a number of years and have seen him give the last 1,000 shillings ($0.25c) in his pocket to someone that was hungry; many orphans and disadvantaged children have passed through their hands. While talking with Alfred he told me of their dream to start a school in their village, since most kids work in sugarcane plantations and in the gardens all day because they have no hope of education, and the few that do attend school have to walk five miles to the nearest school, which only has one teacher!

<div>My twin sister Cara and I are on a mission to help Alfred raise the much needed funding to open up a high school where children will not just learn but also have the chance to transform their futures. We refuse to let these children be forgotten. In Jinja City, Uganda, too many children are forced to grow up without the opportunity to get an education. Every day they face poverty, hardship and limited resources, often with no hope for a better tomorrow. But together, we can change that. VHFA are committed to restoring hope by providing access to high quality education for those who need it most. Education is more than just books and classrooms. It is the key to success, freedom and self-reliance. We’re not just helping to open a school; we’re helping to open doors to new possibilities for generations to come.
