Hi, my name is Paradox, and I’m working toward opening a coffee shop / bar fusion in the heart of Houston Heights—a neighborhood known for community, creativity, and supporting local businesses. I’ve been a coffee nerd for over 15 years. Coffee has always been more than a drink to me—it’s ritual, craft, and connection. This concept blends high-quality coffee, a curated bar program, fresh daily pastries, and original merchandise into a space that feels welcoming from morning through evening. Right now, this project is in its early foundation phase. I don’t yet have a secured space, permits, or equipment—and that’s exactly what this fundraiser is for. Opening a coffee shop comes with significant upfront costs, especially for permits and commercial-grade equipment. This campaign represents Phase 1 of the journey: building the legal, operational, and equipment groundwork needed to move forward responsibly and professionally. How the funds will be used: City permits & business licensing Health department and alcohol-related permits Espresso equipment deposits & essential tools Initial concept development & vendor setup Every contribution—whether a donation or a share—helps turn years of passion into a real, physical space in Houston Heights. This shop is meant to grow with the community, not just exist in it. Thank you for believing in small businesses, local coffee, and the idea that good spaces bring people together. Transparency builds trust. So here are what I’m starting with: Permits & licensing: $8,000 Equipment deposits (espresso machine, grinder): $10,000 Initial supplies & tools: $4,000 Concept development, legal & setup costs: $3,000 Phase 1 Total Goal: $25,000 I will include my Instagram account where you can also keep track of how everything is going and more info.
