"It was fitting to celebrate and be glad, for this your brother was dead, and is alive; he was lost, and is found." (Luke 15:32, NKJV) [1.3]
Help Us Build Second Chances: Saving Somebody’s Chelsi
My name is Pamela Howell, and I’m the founder of Saving Somebody’s Chelsi Co.—a trauma-informed nonprofit born from the ashes of addiction, grief, and the fierce love of a mother who refused to give up.
This is our story.
Three years ago, I watched my daughter Chelsi overdose on fentanyl—through a video call. I was miles away, helpless, screaming into the phone while paramedics worked to revive her. By the grace of God, they heard my cries and brought her back to life. That moment changed everything.
Chelsi survived. And so did I.
But our journey didn’t start there. At 16, I lost my first daughter, Elizabeth Brooke. That grief swallowed me whole. I turned to drugs to numb the pain and spent the next 20 years in addiction—homeless, broken, and alone. I became the addict. Then, I became the mother of one.
Chelsi’s addiction mirrored my own, and I realized how deeply my choices had impacted my children. But instead of shame, I chose healing. I chose to fight for her, for myself, and for every person who’s ever felt forgotten.
That’s why I created Saving Somebody’s Chelsi Co.
We are a community of survivors, mothers, daughters, and fighters who believe:
• Everyone deserves a second chance
• ️ Healing requires love, support, and safe spaces
• No one should walk through trauma alone
We reject the outdated “tough love” approach that leaves people to die in isolation. In 2019 alone, over 100,000 lives were lost to overdose. Many were told to “figure it out” on their own. We say: Not anymore.
What We’re Building
