My name is Claudia Tanner. I’m an animal rescuer and the founder of Paddy’s Dog Rescue, based in Wirral. I am currently facing a charge of burglary in relation to an incident in December 2024, and I am due to appear in court on 20 February. I will be pleading not guilty. I have been given an estimate of around £6,700 for a Crown Court trial (I had previously wrote here it was £15,000 - as that's what my solicitor initially said, then she told me fees for a burglary charge is capped). As legal proceedings are active, I’m unable to comment on the circumstances of the case. This is a very difficult time, and I am seeking support to help cover my legal costs. Any support, whether through a donation or by sharing this, would mean a great deal to me. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for any support you’re able to give.

Hi, We saved Lennie just two hours before he was due to be euthanised. He's settled well with our fantastic foster carer and now it's time to neuter him. We often struggle to raise funds for neutering with so many fundraisers for dogs in urgent situations. But neutering is a responsible thing that all reputable rescues should do. We are a new small rescue based on the Wirral and we have very limited funds so please donate if you can! Also Lennie urgently needs a foster or adopter... his current foster is going into hospital and can no longer look after him. Please get in touch if you can help, otherwise he will have to go into kennels which is stressful for any dog and will up our costs at a time when we are struggling financially. Lennie has come on so far with his foster and is very obedient, he's very food orientated so has learnt a lot of commands and tricks! While Lennie isn't bothered by other dogs on walks, he's never lived with another dog so will need a pet free home. He can be nervous around new people but soon warms to you when he feels safe. We would love to find someone with experience of dealing with dogs with difficult backgrounds who can continue to his training. Thank you from Lennie!

Sky came to us in a neglected state with around 50 mammory lumps. She was losing weight at one point and we suspected the worst - cancer. Because she has so many lumps are requires extensive surgery, the vet recommended that she has two separate procedures. Sky had her first op a few weeks ago costing £1,000 (she was also spayed)... And thanks to our supporters, it saved her life! Quite unexpectedly as she was asymptomatic, the vet discovered she had a pyometra - a serious and potentially fatal infection of the uterus in unspayed female dogs. The vet said she would have likely collapsed in about a week and she could have died. It was a big op with a huge incision across her whole torso, but thanks to her foster's good care Sky has been recovering well. Now in need of her second operation which we need to raise £800 for. We need to book her in ASAP. The good news was that histology tests showed the lumps removed from the first mammory strip we're not cancerous! Unfortunately it doesnt mean none of remaining lumps on the other side are definitely not cancer, the vet told us the lumps could be a mixture of benign and cancer so we have to go ahead with the second op to be sure. Thank you so much to all of Sky's supporters. Sky is such a lovely friendly girl and is finally getting the care she needs. Please share widely!

Unfortunately we've had to take Cleo (who was called Luna) back in under Paddy's care. She had been fostered with view to adopt but it hasn't worked out. This poor girl suffered horrric abuse for three months at the hands of a drug user. We will not share them as they are extremely upsetting, but videos had circulated online of her screams from a flat. We now urgently need substantial funds to pay for her kennel fees of £110 a week. We are looking for a special person who will give her the strick boundaries she needs and take her in and train her under the guidance of a behaviourist. It breaks our hearts to see her back in kennels. Cleo just loved being made a fuss of and she will make a great dog once she's had behavioural support. We are keen to hear from someone who has experience of dogs with a difficult background. The lovely couple who took her in deserve no bad comments please. They grew to really love her and they tried their best and were keen to keep trying but we came to a mutual decision with them that Cleo needs someone who can be firmer with her. It honestly caused a lot of heartbreak for them to hand her back and they are in regular contact for updates. We are a newly launched rescue and we have a number of dogs with soaring vets bill and we have no reserves to pay for this (this month our outgoings are around £3k which will wipe us out and we are in a very precautious situation).
Hi. I'm Sky and I'm under the care of Paddy's Dog Rescue because my owner become homeless. The rescue discovered that I had multiple lumps and swollen nipples and the vet says it's likely to be cancerous. So I need an operation to get them removed ASAP. Our vet has said the growths are so extensive she advises she has two separate procedures - one on one side and after she's recovered from that, an operation on the other side. Each op will cost £800 so total cost £1,600. Paddy's is a new Wirral-based rescue formed in April and they don't have any reserves. This means they rely on the generosity of the public. So please if you can spare some money, no matter how small as it all adds up, please donate so that I'm not left too long waiting. I also urgently need a new foster carer who will look after me when I need help the most. Someone kind who can will open up their home and heart while I recover. My current foster carer's cicumstances have changed and I need a new foster home very urgently. I'm nine years old and I deserve the chance to get better and live a happy life. Thank you for reading.
