It’s been a little while since our last check-in, but life behind the scenes has been non-stop! Between running fundraising events, staying on top of daily physiotherapy, and navigating regular day-to-day life, our days have been completely packed. Today, we are popping in with immense gratitude and some incredibly exciting news to share. First, thanks to your overwhelming kindness and generosity, we have officially hit £46,000! Seeing this number grow leaves us absolutely lost for words. Every donation, share, and kind message brings us one step closer to changing Eliyas’s life, and we cannot thank you enough for standing by us. Because of this unbelievable support, we have a major milestone to announce: at the end of this year, we will be making our way to Chicago for Eliyas to start his gene therapy treatment! This dream becoming a reality is directly because of the thousands of incredible people who have donated, shared our posts, and supported us along the way. Your belief in Eliyas and our family has given us the chance to access this life-changing care, and we will forever be grateful. Eliyas is a 16-month-old little boy, full of joy, love and determination. He has recently been diagnosed with TUBB4A related leukodystrophy, a rare and life-limiting neurological condition. As a group “Eliyas's Angels,” we are doing everything we can to give him hope. We are raising funds to access a specialist gene therapy programme in the United States that may help change the course of his condition. In support of this, we are walking 10,000 steps every day throughout July to raise awareness and vital funds for his treatment, travel, and ongoing care.
