Kerry and I first met as neighbors, and over time, she’s become one of my closest friends. She means the world to me, and seeing her go through such a difficult time has been heartbreaking. Recently, Kerry was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia, a rare life threatening and serious condition that has left her unable to work. She’s now in the process of applying for social security, but as many know, that can take years to come through. In the meantime, she has no income and is struggling to pay for even the most basic necessities. Kerry’s symptoms have made daily life incredibly challenging. She’s dealing with extreme fatigue, frequent infections, and easy bruising, all while facing the uncertainty of her health. Right now, her doctors are also checking her for cancer, which has added even more worry to an already overwhelming situation. Despite all of this, Kerry remains strong and hopeful, but the stress of not knowing how she’ll pay her bills or buy food is taking a toll. I want to do everything I can to help Kerry focus on her health and not have to worry about losing her home or going without food.
