What Nicole cares about

Just trying to enjoy God's good green earth

Hello, I am Victoria. A BSA Scout working towards my Eagle. For my Eagle project I choose to renovate the VFW's BBQ house into an Veterans' Outpost, so that it will be more of use for the current Veterans and the future ones too. The funds will be used to buy cleaning supplies, paint and install donated doors and windows. Our planned dates March 28th and April 11th with a dedication on Memorial Day after the parade. There are many ways to help from renovation to dedication... It will provide a better area of enjoyment and look better, as the VFW is an important area to the community. I know from personal experience in JROTC (Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps), a school class. When we marched in a parade, the VFW is where everyone stopped and the end of various parades. The structure is right next to the VFW and was designated as unsafe and is not able to be used due to its condition. Fixing it will not only give the VFW and the public access to a better environment, but it will also be much more visibly appealing, as it is also right in front of an elementary school. I want the town to have pride in itself, not to slowly decompose. For the younger generation to not have to worry about accidently stepping onto nails during a parade. And I want to give back to those who risked everything for us to have a more peace in mind. My plan to change this for the better- 1. Removing old furniture, old window wood and trash. Wash the kitchen tools (if salvageable). 2. Outside and inside: pressure washing. 3. Outside and inside: painting walls and floor with cement leveling (cement) and then coat it with cement paint. 4. Installing windows x 8 5. Fixtures, furnishings and enhancements.
