I'm a crip poet &amp; writer and freelance editor and don't have medical or dental insurance.  I usually work as a sensitivity reader, editor and work at various other gigs but since the pandemic started gigs have been very slow. In July,  my jaw and the left side of my mouth became swollen, and I was very much in pain and I couldn't ignore it anymore. <br /><br /><strong>I had been in pain for a while but had been ignoring it and taking OTC pain relievers and thought it was just a migraine.  But it became unbearable and had to go to for an emergency visit to a dentist who said I had a severe infection on my jaw, needed a molar extraction, another tooth needed to be pulled and had several cavities that were causing pain that I had also been ignoring for years. She put me on a round of antibiotics and painkillers and said I needed surgery, very soon. I have it scheduled for later in August. Even though I am very afraid of visiting a doctor during this time of COVID, especially in the area where I live and as I am high risk and my family is considered high risk and we are keeping ourselves in high isolation, I am more afraid of staying with this pain for longer than I have to. <br />expenses: visit, extractions, cavities,  full x-rays, anesthesia +</strong><br /><br /><strong>Even at home preventative care is not enough for dental care and for those living in poverty or on the line between working poor and poor, dental care is often the last thing on our minds-it's a luxury that is often reserved only for the rich. </strong><br /><br /><strong> I am asking for any donations that you can contribute, that you only do what you can and greatly appreciate any donations or shares!</strong><br /><br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/50110612_159633220413752_r.jpeg" alt="50110612_159633220413752_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" />

<div>After losing my parents and going into debt trying to give the best end-of-life care for my dog, Dawn (The cute bigger Light brown dog in photos), I was already struggling to keep up with my bills &amp; I fell behind on my mortgage. The long term stress took a heavy toll and a childhood lung illness came back with full force leading me to going back in forth with my insurance to find a doctor that I could see near me because I couldn't breathe well enough to get care out of the house I  went with a online consultation to get the antibiotics out of pocket leading me to fall behind more.

<div>Because I’ve been late before in the last 12 months. They are “asking” to give them 3 months of pay stubs or bank statements showing that I can continue to pay for the house. . I’ve worked. I’ve made a living. But my income isn’t a neat line on a spreadsheet so I don't have a neat pdf to send.They’re treating me poorly for not going in person. But I’m trying. I’ve been trying.  I’ve been dealing with a serious lung condition, long covd &amp; a kidney injury that landed me in the hospital.I’ve applied for disability again, a process that can take years, and I take freelance work when there is work. Still, the system keeps asking for more than I have the ability to give. The goal is $5,000 to get back on my feet after sending that amount and meeting the reinstatement demands. (if they take it) $35,000 would pay off the full loan and end this cycle for good.

<div>’ve spent years fighting for others rights, my parents, my community, my family. Now I just want the chance to rest and recover. My kids are asking me not to give up, so I keep pushing to protect our home—the only safe space where I can manage my disabilities, care for my disabled child, and keep contributing in the ways I’m able. But the system wasn’t built for people with disabilities. I don’t want to live in constant survival mode or be forced to prove my “resilience” anymore.
