<div>A devoted mum to three beautiful kids. A loving partner. A pathology nurse who has spent her life caring for others. An animal rescuer with the softest heart. And one of my closest friends for over 30 years.

<div>Kate, myself (Skai), Mel, and Kylei have grown up side by side — through school, life, motherhood, and everything in between. This year, we all turn 44. She’s not just a friend… she’s family.

<div>On Sunday night, everything changed.
</div>

<div>After arriving by ambulance at Cessnock Hospital, Kate suffered a catastrophic heart attack while waiting to be seen. She was without a heartbeat for 3 minutes before being revived with CPR. She was then rushed to John Hunter Hospital, where she underwent emergency surgery.

</div>
<div>Kate is currently in ICU, sedated, surrounded by her family and closest friends who haven’t left her side — all of us holding onto hope, waiting to understand what life will look like for her and her children moving forward.
</div>

<div>As we all know, when something like this happens, the world doesn’t stop. The bills still come. The responsibilities don’t pause. And right now, Kate’s focus needs to be on healing — not financial stress.
