Our Story
Moving to a new country means starting over—not only in work or daily life, but in language, confidence, and connection. Many immigrants attend language courses, yet still struggle when it comes to real conversations, building friendships, or feeling part of a community.
We know this experience personally. As immigrants ourselves, we have faced the gap between knowing a language and living it. This gap can lead to isolation, limited opportunities, and a feeling of not fully belonging.
That is why we want to create something different.

Who We Are
The project is led by a multidisciplinary team combining complementary expertise.
I hold a Master’s degree in Tourism Planning and an MBA, with professional experience in service design, organizational planning, and user-centered development. My husband is a PhD candidate in Sociolinguistics, with academic expertise in social networks, communication patterns, and the relationship between social interaction and language use.
Together, we bring both practical and scientific perspectives to the design of community-based communication spaces, ensuring that the project is grounded in both real-world feasibility and research-based understanding of human interaction and language learning.

Our Idea
We are building a community-based café concept where language is not taught—but lived.
A space where immigrants and locals can meet, talk, and connect through:
- guided conversation gatherings
- cultural events (music, literature, art)
- peer-to-peer learning (e.g., digital skills, everyday knowledge)
This is not a classroom. It is a real social environment where communication happens naturally—through shared experiences.
In addition, we want to create space for children of immigrant families to stay connected to their mother tongue—through reading, storytelling, and informal learning. Supporting both new and native languages helps strengthen identity, confidence, and connection across generations.
Our goal is to start in Germany and develop a model that can be replicated in other countries, helping immigrant communities worldwide.

Why This Matters
Language is more than grammar—it is connection, confidence, and belonging. Without spaces to practice real communication, many people remain on the margins of society despite their efforts.
This project is about changing that.
It is about creating a place where:
- speaking is encouraged, not judged
- people meet beyond cultural boundaries
- integration happens through human interaction
---
Our Vision
We believe this idea can grow beyond one city or one country. With a strong foundation, it can become a model for community-driven language spaces worldwide.
