His wife Regan and two daughters, Delaney (14) and Everley (10) are now faced with saying goodbye to their beloved husband and dad. I was involved in a traumatic incident in NYC where a man, early 40s was trying to escape a hit and run and ran into multiple cars before hitting a food stand that my friend &amp; I was walking near. It ended up knocking me unconscious and pended me under a bus. I was under it unaware of what was happening. I have a few broken bones, fractures, &amp; chipped teeth but thanking God that I’m alive. Nine people were injured in his attempted escape from the hit &amp; run, including 3 police officers. Police caught him shortly after and arrested him. Amidst the chaos of the New Year's incident, I'm holding onto an immense sense of gratitude for life itself. This setback hasn't deterred my belief that something remarkable is still being crafted by God. Despite the injuries sustained in the collision caused by a hit-and-run in NYC, I'm filled with hope and faith in the unfolding of a beautiful new chapter. Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated as I navigate this path toward recovery and new beginnings. Support for Carrie after Drunk Driver Collision

<div>On Monday May 8th my sister SteFanie Desiderio and brother in law Ryan Desiderio's 4-1/2 year old son, Mason Jerric Desiderio started peeing blood. He wasn’t in any pain and just wanted to continue jumping on the trampoline. They immediately took him to Children's Hospital where less than than 24 hrs later they were told that he definitely had cancer.

<div>I will never forget the way my sisters voice sounded, the way she cried as she said to me,

<div>"Mason has cancer".
</div>
<div>I can hear it like she's saying to me right now. I was expecting her to say he had a bladder infection or a UTI. I was in shock and my heart broke all at the same time.
</div>
<div>Initial findings were a mass between his bladder and prostate. After two weeks of biopsy's and scan after scan the official diagnosis is Stage 3 High Risk Neuroblastoma.
</div>
<div>Mason will need chemo, radiation and surgery.
</div>
<div>There will be 5 rounds of chemotherapy that take 4-5 days every time and will happen every 21 days.
</div>
<div>Between round 4 and 5 Mason will have surgery to remove the mass and then after that he'll start radiation.
</div>
<div>With 2 older brothers, his twin Easton (by 3 minutes) and Luca (5-1/2), this family was already busy. To help with the expenses of childcare, travel, groceries, co-pays, and unpaid days off of work, in hopes to get ahead of it instead of letting things become a burden I'm asking for your help.
</div>
<div>Mason is the bravest person I know and he's ready to kick cancers a$$ and show you all the super hero he really is.
</div>

<div>Tomorrow Mason Desiderio will start this next phase of the journey.
</div>
<div>He'll be admitted to the hospital for a fertility preservation surgery tomorrow morning and then his first round of chemo starts Thursday. They'll stay at the hospital until the 5th or 6th. He'll get treatments everyday while he's there. The hospital has activities like painting, music lessons and a "Play-Doh Imagination Station" to keep him busy and entertained. He's excited to get to stay in the room again and wants to "sleep on the couch" lol

<div>He's spent the last week and a half since school ended living his best summer life. Riding bikes, going to Kennywood, playing bubble guns, coloring the driveway with sidewalk chalk and of course jumping on the trampoline. The twins went and did their summer time haircuts with a close shaved head. They like to twin so this worked out with chemo starting. Luca and his dad will shave their heads when Luca is done with school.

Creative tour-de-force Toy Holmes has been in the business of bringing joy and light to everything she touches for decades. The award-winning voiceover artist (“Black Girls Rock!”) and singer-songwriter is known for all the compassion and generosity she extends in every area of her life. <br /><br />Now, she is sending out a call for help in her time of need.<br /><br />On September 24, 2019, Toy was diagnosed with Stage 2 Triple Negative breast cancer--an aggressive form of cancer that disproportionately affects Black and Latina women. After experiencing a lack of urgency, empathy, and options from the medical professionals she encountered in the US, it became clear to Toy that a dramatically different approach to healing was in order. She began searching for professionals who shared her personal philosophy on healing, and honor her desires and choices.<br /><br />“I want to be treated in a place where I am seen as a whole entire human, with feelings, emotions, with a life, with dreams and not just a number, and not just a statistic…another one. I could be the first one to do something different. So, I’m going to Spain. I found a doctor who was able to look at my cells and tell me all the imbalances that were going on in my body that created the cancer—something nobody else was able to do.”<br /><br /><br />Toy has connected with Dr. Raymond Hilu, a world-renowned physician and scientist featured in a popular documentary, The Truth About Cancer. At Clinica Hilu, in Marbella, Spain he has treated many like Toy, using cutting edge diagnostic tools and non-toxic therapies to treat chronic and rare degenerative diseases. For cancer patients in particular, he believes that the trauma of fighting cancer can be very discouraging and one needs to treat the person as a whole as "the body is not separate from the mind and the heart". He even requires that all staff members are trained in patient-care supportive counseling.<br /><br /><br />Now, we have the opportunity to make sure Toy gets the support she needs to heal on her terms.
