I’m Elizabeth, and I’m creating this fundraiser for myself and my 6-year-old son. We are both autistic, and right now we are facing a crisis that I never imagined would happen so fast. The person who had been providing for us left, and I am currently unable to work because of medical conditions that came on quickly. I have a Social Security benefits hearing in December, but between now and then I do not know how I will pay rent for the next three months. I have been calling everywhere I can for assistance, trying to find help and hold things together. I have worked incredibly hard to stay sober for the last 9 years, and I am doing everything I can to protect the life and stability I have built for my son and me.

 This home is my son’s safe place and the only home he knows. Losing it would be devastating for both of us. The funds from this fundraiser will help cover our rent until my hearing in December so we can stay in our home and avoid becoming homeless while we wait for answers. <strong>Asking for help</strong> is not easy for me, but this has been a very rough time. I am scared, and my anxiety doesn’t stop. There is no big village behind us, so any support, no matter the size, would mean so much to us. To relocate Annie and safely move our lives to Florida, I need to secure a reliable truck with the towing capacity to haul my camper of 9k lbs along with Annie’s stuff to Florida. Bring Annie to Florida to work as a Therapy Horse

In January 2023, Lindsay Clancy was accused of killing her three young children in the family’s Duxbury, Massachusetts home.<br /><br />More than three years later, her case is now being tried in court. Throughout those three years, Lindsay’s parents, Mike and Paula Musgrove, have continued to show up for their daughter.<br /><br />And that is who this fundraiser is for, Mike and Paula, who have spent years traveling back and forth, staying in hotels, attending court proceedings and ultimately relocating from Connecticut to Massachusetts so they could remain close to Lindsay. <br /><br />Their lives have largely been put on hold while they have continued doing what parents do: showing up for their child during the unimaginable.<br /><br />That has come at an enormous financial cost. This fundraiser is not asking anyone to agree on Lindsay, her case, or what the outcome of her trial should be.  People will have different feelings about all of those things.  <br /><br />It is simply an opportunity to help two parents who have spent more than three years carrying a financial burden on top of an emotional one most of us cannot begin to imagine.<br /><br />Mike and Paula are the named beneficiaries of this GoFundMe and receive the funds directly. I do not have access to the money.  The fundraiser was established with their knowledge and consent, and Lindsay’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, is aware of it.<br /><br />The money belongs to Mike and Paula.  The purpose of this fundraiser is to give them back some of the financial stability they have lost over the last three years and allow them to decide what they need as they eventually begin figuring out what life looks like after this trial.<br /><br />At some point, the court proceedings will end.  Mike and Paula will still have a life to return to. There will still be bills, a home, lost savings, and years of putting their own lives on hold while they stood beside their daughter.<br /><br />More than anything, this fundraiser came from a very simple thought: What if thousands of strangers could help carry just one piece of this for them?<br /><br />And that is exactly what has happened.  This fund has grown because thousands of people independently decided that Mike and Paula deserve some support after everything they have carried.<br /><br />If you feel the same, please consider donating or sharing the Musgrove Family Fund. <div>“We went to bed at 1:30am, we were asleep while the water rapidly rose. We woke up at 2:30am to water pouring into every log of the cabin. The waters outside were already waist- deep, while the water inside was rising to ankle level.

<div>We pulled all the low level power plugs in the house because amazingly we still had power. I packed few and random clothes, food i thought was small enough to carry, a water jug, a one person pop-up tent, my cell phone and my cat.

<div>When we tried to escape out of the door closest to the mountain, the water pressure was bearing on the door latch so tightly that the handle couldnt be turned. If it weren't for the screen door on the side of the house barely holding back the flood, we may have been trapped inside. 
</div>
<div>We climbed out and waded through the backyard in the dark through water that came up to our ribs, carrying my cat in his carrier. 
</div>
<div>Flashlights and lightning strikes lit the way across the backyard to the higher ground.

<div>We spent the night on top of the quarry under a cluster of trees and in a flimsy tent with my cat. The tent wasnt waterproof so we endured the storm until dawn when it finally stopped raining.

<div>When we assessed the flood at its peak, the water reached all but the top two logs of the cabin, inside and out. My car and my mom's car were mostly submerged and floating across the backyard. Large boulders, two 1-ton concrete blocks, and a scaffolding/platform structure near the front ditch had toppled over with the strength of the current.

<div>My mom lost everything overnight in a flood. Her and my sibling escaped with the clothes on their backs, and their cat, Meow Meow. Both of their cars are ruined and the house was almost completely underwater. Mom also didn’t not have homeowners insurance due to low finances. They need clothes, shoes, and food as an immediate need while they navigate getting permanent shelter figured out for my mom.
